2011 Funky Summer Hairstyles Are Rockin

Angel Vee
There's always those funky hairstyles that come out each summer that some people will wear to enhance their appearance. 2011 expect to see Chelsea Hawks, short buzzed cuts with longer tops, funky braids, and cool bangs. Now remember, these styles are not for everyone. If you have a really exotic face and great features you should have no problem rockin these looks this summer.

Chelsea Hawk- This punk style became very hot back in the 80's, and now it's back for revenge. You have two versions of this look. You can get a Chelsea haircut or a Chelsea Hawk. Yes, they vary in difference. The cut is basically shaved on the main portions of the hair, while leaving the top razored and long, and the sides hanging down with a fringed look.

The hawk the sides you still have the front and sides coming down to face frame your face, but the sides are completely shaved, and the back forms a mohawk. You can wear it flat down and messy, or go crazy and spiked the hawk up.

Funky Braids With Smooth Sides

Braids work great in the summer. While giving you a trendy look they can also help give your hair some waves or curls. Here you have another hot look that has two ways of wearing it. If your hair is long enough on the top, make small braids and then pin it in place. Smooth the sides flat, and create various shaped braids using the sides and the length. Make the braids fancy, crazy, or plain.

Second option, tease the top of the hair to create a big poof, smooth the sides completely flat, and then make twisty braids using the rest of the sides and your length. If you twist the braids tight enough you shouldn't really need any elastics in the hair at all.

Buzzed, Spiked, and Feathered

Short hair in the summer is definitely the way to go for many, especially if you have no time to fix your hair or if you sweat a lot. Buzz your whole head, just buzz the sides, spike the top, or wear a variation of all these techniques with one cut. If your going real short, I do suggest adding some funkiness to your new look by using your fingers, products, or teasing. You don't want to get a new funky short cut, and it just looks blah.

Other great looks for summer 2011 is the pixie, bob, and bouncy curls. The key to this years styles is sharpness, edginess, and lots of flair. Yes, long is still in, but short funky looks are on the rise.

Why not have fun with it? Hair is the one legal thing that kids can still have fun with. It's a shame that some schools discourage it . If kids have it cut immediately when summer begins the hair should be well in by fall.
