2011 Grammy Nominees for Album of the Year: Lady Gaga, Eminem, Lady Antebellum, Katy Perry and Arcade Fire

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards will occur Feb. 13, 2011. The venue will be the Staples Center in Los Angeles. This award show doles out awards based on peer review, so the nominated musicians are always delighted to have been selected by their peers for consideration for a Grammy.

The musicians receiving the most award nominations include Eminem, who received 10 nominations. Will he be the big winner at this year's Grammy Awards?

Bruno Mars received seven nominations, and Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and Lady Antebellum all received six, notes MTV. There will be fierce competition at this show. It is great to see that the musicians nominated for multiple awards encompass a wide variety of music genres.

Who will win "Album of the Year" at the next Grammy awards?

Eminem: "Recovery"

Eminem's album "Recovery" is nominated for "Album of the Year." He has seen a resurgence in popularity, and his antagonistic rap lyrics continue to intrigue his fans. Eminem is back in the hot glare of the spotlight lately for his new music. He has made Detroit famous once again for the place where he is inspired to create rap songs that go worldwide to speak to youth and adult lovers of rap everywhere.

He has worldwide recognition as a rapper, and has influenced a generation of youngsters who blast out his songs with fevered adoration of his music and his persona. Eminem seems to sum up his persistence at rebuilding his career in the song "Won't Back Down" on the "Recovery" album. He is making a move to regain status in the rap field.

Lady Gaga: "The Fame Monster"

Lady Gaga is nominated in the "Album of the Year" category for "The Fame Monster," notes the Los Angeles Times. She remains constantly in the glare of the media and is more outrageous in her attire as her fame increases. Lady Gaga has also been speaking out on social issues lately, making a plea for the termination of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy that prohibits homosexuals from openly serving in the military.

Katy Perry: "Teenage Dream"

Katy Perry is nominated for "Album of the Year" for "Teenage Dream." She must feel like she is living a dream this year. She recently married, and now she is also up for a Grammy Award. Though this album did not achieve great reviews, it was nonetheless nominated.

Perry sings of love in the song "Teenage Dream." Teens everywhere will be singing this song as they fall in love.

Arcade Fire: "The Suburbs"

Arcade Fire, a Canadian band, is nominated for "The Suburbs" in the "Album of the Year" category. This indie-rock band is setting its own style and winning over huge amounts of fans. The songs speak of alienation, isolation, and hope for the future.

Lady Antebellum: "Need You Now"

Lady Antebellum is nominated for the "Album of the Year" award for "Need You Now." The band explores themes of love and taking chances on this album. The song "Need You Now" talks about a random late night moment when logic is overruled by emotions and pain.
