Let's think about this. Pretend you'r decorating a new room purple, what would you match with it? Maybe gold, silver, black, lavender, pink, green, brown,or maroon?
Now put these colors into hair dyes like the gold would be blonde or platinum, maroon would be a deep burgundy, brown would be like a chocolate, lavender and black would remain the same, and maybe a soft red mixed with blonde and purple. That would look totally trendy.
Keeping your hair from fading is tricky. The rules for purple or plum hair is very similar to keeping red hair from fading except for two things.
One you will need a purple shampoo, and two an extra bottle of dye to refresh the hair up after every shampoo. With red you can get away with every third or so shampoo, but shades of purple you can't. What shampoo can I use?
The only two products I know that work is Joico Color Endure Violet Shampoo, and Jhirmack Purple Shampoo. Back when I had my salon we really didn't have too many customers at that time come in and ask for bright purple hair. So we just kept these two products on hand if someone did.
Apply to the hair and leave on for 15 minutes after each shampoo. Make sure to place a processing cap on top to hold the heat in and seal the color.
Another way to keep purple hair from fading is to use a grape Kool Aid rinse instead of a glaze once a week. Take 3-5 packs of Kool Aid and place into a microwave safe bowl. Heat up in the microwave for 3 minutes. Remove and allow it to cool down. Make sure you DO NOT ADD SUGAR just the packets are being used.
Apply conditioner on your head. Then pour the grape all over and place a cap on top. Process for 30 minutes to an hour to freshen it up. Rinse out in cold water.
You do not have to use a semi or demi hair color in your shampoo every time, opt for the Kool Aid no harm on the harm.
For actual pictures, head over to photobucket , or Hair Dye Gallery. What I like about the Hair Dye Gallery it tells you on each picture which color and brand was used. You have various shades to choose from.

Post a CommentGotta confess something oddly sexy about a gal with purple hair...ya know, as a gag or whatever, but if that's her full time look, well it's too much for me. And is fading purple hair a big issue?LOL
I have no idea why anyone would dye their hair purple without a gun being placed to their heads, but I just had to check this out. I'll never look at Kool Aid in the same way!
