2011 Hot Trend Low Ponytail and Decorated Pony

A hot look that will continue into the spring and summer of 2011 is a low bun or ponytail. Expect to see more creative styles like a ponytail accessorized, knot, completely poker straight sided, or a huge barrel curl pony with bump style on top.

To me this style is one of the easiest to create, but can be so much fun. You can dress it to become sexy and classy, or wear it down simple and edgy. Take the regular pony from the office and turn it into a glamourous ponytail for a night out on the town. No matter which style you go with, you can't really go wrong.

Celebrities such as Nicole Ritchie, Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Paula Abdul, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, and even Jessica Simpson have sported some great looking ponies throughout the years.

Although summer of 2010 we did hear and see a lot of braids, twists, buns, fringes, and loose beach curls these looks will still remain hot, but not as popular as the ponytail.

Huge Barrel Curls With Volume

For this pony you will need a big barrel curling iron, an elastic, few bobby pins, rattail comb, and a little bit of spray.

Before gathering the hair into a pony tease the hair at the top starting at the root. Once the hair is teased place it down and grab the sides of the hair and pull the length into it creating the ponytail.

Wrap the hair elastic around the base. Now take small sections of hair and curl them using the biggest barrel iron you can find. Before releasing the iron from each section spray good with hairspray then release. Repeat until the whole ponytail is curled. Do not comb out. Run your fingers through it just to slightly loosen it up a tad.

Go back to the teased section on front and slightly backcomb the hair. Push down and pin. If you flattened the top out too much, just use the end of the comb to lift it back up. Pull a few bangs down, and spray.

Decorate With Lots Of Style

Place your hair into a regular pony. Then grab 3-6 small/medium sized barrettes and place them into the hair. At the base your going to place two one on each side. Then 4 going straight down, making sure you leave at least 1-2 inches of space in-between the next one.

Now if your hair is not long enough, no worry you can always purchase a few clip in ponytails over at Ebay, Hot Topic, Buy.com, Amazon, or Sally's for a very reasonable price.
