Red Liner, Grunge, Landscaping, Extra Brow and More

2011 hottest makeup trends are edgy, unique, and quite eye-catching to say the least. Who would have thought eyeliner worn grungy or like a football player would become one of the coolest trends? This year expect to see extreme cat eyes, bold lines underneath, smudged eyes, and an array of colors used such as turquoise, violet, two color combo, red liner, and even yellow and lime green are hot shades to look out for.

How To Rock Red Liner With Glossy Lips

Rihanna rocked this look at The American Music Awards some time ago. Since then many others followed this eyeliner trend by making their own creation.

You will need a red liner, black mascara, neutral eye makeup, and a soft pink glossy lip. Hot Topic carries some awesome red liners.

First place the shadow on. Then on top of the eye use the red, and on the bottom, but just go halfway on top. Wear 2-3 coats of black mascara to bring the liner out more. If you want add some red eyeshadow underneath the liner to keep the eyeliner intact.

Turquoise Liner With A Hint Of Yellow

Not only does blue eyeliner help with tired eyes, it can also make your eyes appear bigger and brighter. Wear a nice bronzed face, an orange-red lip, peach and brown shadow with turquoise liner on bottom, and on top. Then just in the corners, add a touch of yellow.

Eyeliner Landscaping Trend

To me this look makes you look like you forgot to take your makeup off at night, and makes your eyes look like Raccoons. However, this trend is hot unfortunately.

No shadow needed on the eye, unless you just want to add a pale color like nude. Then draw a thick black line in the crease of your eyelid. Rub and smudge it. Now draw a line under your eyes about 2 inches long. To make this look more dramatic add a charcoal shadow underneath eye.

Two Color Streaks

This look is kind of cool I think, not really sure on it yet. Choose two colors that go together like gray and black, blue and green, or purple and pink. In the middle of crease draw a thick line, and when you reach the corner of the eye make it wing out. Underneath the eye make the liner thick and smudge it.

An Extra Brow

Choose a light and dark color liner. Literally make another brow in the middle of your eye. The first half should be dark, and the tail of the brow should be light. Example, red and gray. Make sure that you do the arch of the brow, and it lines up to your own.

Lace Eyelids

Using your liner make small dots on the outer half of the eyelid. Then take a makeup sponge and smudge it lightly. The look is almost like a stenciled eye. Be more creative and add rays of colors in-between the black.

2011 is all about bold and dramatic eyes. Heavy, heavy black liner, and lots of colors.

I like the new colors. I grew up in the colorful 60's and it's nice to see some bold colors back in fashion.

Love the ideas, but way too bold for me! I am on the more 'conservative' side.
