The 2011 team consists of a great mixture of returning players which includes 16 letterman joined by talented new freshmen on the squad. Matty Ott will be returning to the mound and leading the Tigers in pitching this season. He has several talented back-ups in Ben Alsup, Daniel Bradshaw, Chris Cotton, Michael Reed, and Forrest Garrett. Can we say the pitching will be loaded this year? I think so, if the fall practice sessions have told us anything about the pitching abilities of these young men.
The Tigers have a challenging schedule for the 2011 season but this has never stopped them before. This year we predict another trip to Omaha for the College World Series under the guidance of head coach Paul Mainieri.
