A premier bbq and more event held at the Soldiers Memorial, 1315 Chestnut, downtown St. Louis from May 27-30. Hours are 11 A.M. -11:00 P.M. Friday- Sunday and 11:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. Monday. Admission is free if you enter before 5:00 P.M. Friday and 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, otherwise general admission is $7.00. Classic rock bands perform during the event and reserved seating tickets are available. Some of the best rib cookers in the U.S. are in attendance with mouth-watering meats sure to satisfy the hungriest of appetites . Vendors do not accept cash, so purchase food and beverage tickets ( 7 tickets for $10) when you enter the grounds.

Free admission and parking with free shuttle service from the nearby Corporate campus. Enjoy traditional Greek dancing and music. Then stroll over to the authentic Greek market for food, beverage and some shopping, of course.

An annual St. Louis event to benefit the St. Louis Symphony is held on Memorial Day, May, 30, rain or shine, from 7 A.M. - 5 P.M. The Gypsy Caravan is not your mom and dad's garage sale or flea market. 400 booths dot parking lots C and E on the U.M.S.L. campus with an additional 72 in the covered south garage. Vendors come from all over the United states to hawk their wares of arts, crafts, jewelry, antiques and probably anything else you can imagine and haven't been able to find. Because of this, early bird admission - 7 to 9 A.M. - is $20, while the remainder of the day one only has to pay $5.

Lest we forget what this day is really all about, the annual Veteran's Ceremony is held at the National Cemetery here in St. Louis. The Boy Scouts work throughout the weekend to plant miniature American flags at each grave site. A memorial ceremony is held in the main chapel at 9:45 A.M. honoring those veterans who have died while in the service of their country. A sobering event
