2011 NASCAR Coca Cola 600: Line Up, TV Channel, Start Time and Car Numbers

The 2011 NASCAR Coca Cola 600 gets underway today, the Coca Cola 600 was formerly called the World 600 and is one of NASCAR's crowned jewel events. This 600 mile race is the longest race of the racing season. This race consists of 400 laps around the 1.5 mile Charlotte Motor Speedway, according to NASCAR.com

This year a group of military people will give the command to "start your engines," which is fitting for the Memorial Day Weekend. The green flag will wave at precisely 6:19 pm EST, which is the official start of the race. Everything up until the 6:19 pm time is all pre-race show.

"Hootie and the Blowfish" band's "Hootie" will be singing the national anthem this year. Darius Rucker is "Hootie's" real name and he will sing the anthem after a 21-gun salute followed by a Ft.Bragg bugler playing taps. This is done in remembrance of all the fallen soldiers, which is what Memorial Day is all about.

According to the Bleacher Report, "two out of the last three seasons, the winner of the All-Star race has gone on to win the Coca-Cola 600 and if you're Carl Edwards, you're pretty happy about that"
