2011 NCAA Tournament: Four Teams to Watch

JM Van Horn
March Madness is officially here and the time has come for the 68 teams to show what they have and see if they can survive the tournament and be crowned champions. The beauty of this year is that parity has run rampant in college basketball and there is no dominant team who appears poised to coast through the tournament.

With that being said, these are four of the teams you should keep an eye on in the 2011 NCAA tournament.

Oakland #13 Seed - West Region

The Golden Grizzlies earned their second consecutive trip to the Big Dance and should not be taken lightly by their opponents. During the season, the team showed they could score and enter winning 19 of their last 20 games. While # 4 Texas may not be quaking in their sneakers, they need to respect a team that has held their own against ranked opponents.

Arizona # 5 Seed - West Region

If you want to find the best big man in the tournament, look no further than the Wildcats' Derrick Williams. The man has the ability to be a game changer and could be the difference from an early exit from the Big Dance or a deep run. The majority of teams in the tournament do not have a counter for him and that could mean trouble. SPOILER - Oakland could meet Arizona in the Second Round

San Diego State # 2 - West Region

The more and more you watch the Aztecs, the more you have to like their chances in the tournament. The team does have a talented player with Kawhi Leonard and showed they could hold up against teams in the NCAA tournament. The team will not be challenged until the Sweet Sixteen and could be on a roll by then.

Michigan State # 10 Seed - Southeast Region

Yes, the Spartans did not live up to their potential pushed onto their shoulders at the start of the season. Remember, Tom Izzo knows how to motivate his team and get them ready for the tournament. There is a reason why he is one of the top coaches in college basketball. The Spartans will need Kalin Lucas to play a major role in their tournament success.
