33 New England Patriots-Gabe Carmi OT- Wisconsin
Game Carmi will be the first player taken in the 2nd round of the 2011 NFL draft in my opinion. He will possibly need a year or so to get up to speed but he is young and big.
34 Buffalo Bills- Christian Ponder QB-Florida State
Ponder may be a steal here for the Bills who need a qb but not one to start right away. Keep in mind that there will likely be no mini camps, to teach a rookie anything.
35 Cincinnati Bengals- Ryan Mallett QB-Arkansas
The Bengals get their man here in the 2nd round of my 2011 NFL mock draft.
36 Denver Broncos- Marvin Austin DT- UNC
Another player who would have been drafted much higher if not for being suspended. Austin will join Darius to make the Bronco interior line formable very quickly. John Fox builds from the line out and will love this pick.
37 Cleveland Browns- JJ Watt DE- Wisconsin
If Watt indeed falls this far the defense hungry Browns will snap him up. He needs a lot of coaching but I think he is a solid pick here.
38 Arizona Cardinals- Akeem Ayers OLB- UCLA
Ayers may have to start right away and bring some pass rush to a bad Cardinals defense.
39 Tennessee Titans- Corey Liuget DT- Illinois
Liuget fills a need here for the Titans here and will be a solid addition to the team.
40 Dallas Cowboys- Curtis Brown CB- Texas
I expect Dallas to take at least two defensive backs in this draft, Curtis Brown could be a starter in 2012 for the Cowboys.
41 Washington Redskins- Andy Dalton QB- TCU
The Redskins go for their quarterback of the future here in Andy Dalton. Though the team could go RB at this point.
42 Houston Texans- Stephen Paea NT- Oregon State
Phillips gets a nose tackle for his new 3-4 as the Texans try to build a defense in time to save Kubiack's job.
43 Minnesota Vikings- Colin Kaepernick QB-Nevada
Kaepernick gives the Vikings a young quarterback to develop.
44 Detroit Lions- Mike Pouncey G- Florida
Ok Pouncey's injury concerns may not drop him this low but if they do the Lions will pounce on him, pun intended.
45 San Francisco 49ers- Randall Cobb WR-Kentucky
Cobb can stretch the field for the 49ers but don't expect much out of a rookie wideout in a short off season.
46 Denver Broncos- Aaron Williams S- Texas
A corner at Texas Williams will probably play safety with the Broncos, or possibly be a nickel corner.
47 St. Louis Rams- Leonard Hankerson WR-Miami
The Rams continue to add some weapons for Bradford.
48 Oakland Raiders- Johnny Patrick CB-Louisville
Patrick makes the most sense at this point in the 2nd round of my 2011 NFL mock draft. Patrick is raw which the Raiders seem to like.
49 Jacksonville Jaguars- Titus Young WR- Boise State
Young is the best receiver on the board for the needy Jags.
50 San Diego Chargers- Kyle Rudolph TE- Notre Dame
Gates is old and banged up now; Rudolph may be his eventual replacement.
51 Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Ryan Kerrigan DE- Purdue
Kerrigan may need to add some weight but he is tough and will be a long time NFL player.
52 New York Giants- Daniel Thomas RB- Kansas State
The Giants like a platoon of backs and Thomas has the size and want to, to be a good short yardage back.
53 Indianapolis Colts- Danny Watkins G- Baylor
The Colts always need offensive line help and Watkins is a good fit here.
54 Philadelphia Eagles- Cameron Heyward DE- Ohio State
The Eagles need some help on the defensive line and Heyward will provide them a boost.
55 Kansas City Chiefs- Justin Houston OLB-Georgia
Houston is a bit stiff and does not care about run defense but he can get after the quarterback and that is what the Chiefs need.
56 New Orleans Saints- Martez Wilson LB- Illinois
Wilson will be a good special teamer if not a first day starter for the linebacker poor New Orleans Saints.
57 Seattle Seahawks- Rodney Hudson G- Florida State
Hudson is a little small but the Seahawks take a shot with him at this point in the 2nd round of my 2011 NFL mock draft.
58 Baltimore Ravens- Edmond Gates WR- Abilene Christian
Gates is small but he can scoot and the Ravens need a wideout who can stretch the field.
59 Atlanta Falcons- Greg Jones ILB-Michigan State
Defense is much needed by the Falcons and Jones will be a decent player for them.
60 New England Patriots- Stephen Wisniewski OL-Penn State
Smart AND mean that is a combination that the Patriots love and Wisniewski fits the bill.
61 San Diego Chargers- Casey Matthews ILB-Oregon
Matthews may be a bit of a reach here but he has a heck of a pedigree and if nothing else will be a great special teams player.
62 Chicago Bears- Muhammad Wilkerson DT-Temple
Wilkerson will be a nice part of the Bears defensive line rotation that needs some help.
63 Pittsburgh Steelers- Clint Boling G- Georgia
The Steelers start to address their offensive line woes.
64 Green Bay Packers- DeMarco Murray RB- Oklahoma
Murray has the size and skill to earn some carries as a rookie and possibly become a starter down the road.
Thanks for reading the 2nd round of my 2011 NFL mock draft.
