2011 NFL Trade Deadline: Ten Players Who Should Be Dealt

The 2011 NFL trade deadline will take place on Tuesday at 4pm and while we will not see LeBron James in the news, there are going to be a handful of players who will be available to teams looking to make a push for a playoff berth.

Whether a NFL team needs help on the offensive or defensive side of the ball, there are going to be quality players available. The question is will your team make the trade deadline deals to acquire one of these players.

Carson Palmer QB - Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals have moved on from Palmer thanks to the emergence of Andy Dalton. Now the question is how much can they actually get for Palmer? They would be lucky to get a third rounder from teams who are hurting at quarterback.

Kyle Orton QB - Denver Broncos

His name was put in the mix the moment the Broncos announced Tim Tebow would take the reins. While they ride that train into the ground, they are going to be a few teams out there who would be smart to pick him up, like the Houston Texans, as added insurance.

Peyton Hillis RB - Cleveland Browns

Maybe the Browns are going to get tired of the Hillis saga. It would help since they have Montario Hardesty in the backfield. Depending on the team, Hillis could fetch a nice return if the team is sold he will repeat his 2011 NFL campaign.

Reggie Bush RB - Miami Dolphins

So much for Bush making a splash on South Beach and revitalizing his NFL career. The Dolphins have moved forward with Daniel Thomas and should try to recoup some by shipping him out to another team, perhaps the San Francisco 49ers.

Brandon Lloyd WR - Denver Broncos

Lloyd's name has been leaked to the papers that he is available via trade from the Broncos. Since most of the NFL teams are making the push to an aerial assault, he could be a solid addition to those teams hurting with injuries, like the Tennessee Titans or San Francisco 49ers.

Jason Smith RT - St. Louis

Three years after being selected second overall in the NFL Draft, the Rams have discovered that Smith is average at best and not worth the contract they signed him too, especially if they wish to keep Sam Bradford healthy.

Karlos Dansby LB - Miami Dolphins

Though he a solid 2010 NFL season, the contract they signed for five-years at $43 million is not worth it. Though you should never trade players inside your own division, the New England Patriots could use his presence to shore up their front seven.

Marcus Trufant CB - Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks have never been shy from trading away their players with the chance to overhaul their roster. While Trufant has been above average in Seattle, his age is catching up to him and he could find himself on a winning team in need of his presence.

Champ Bailey CB - Denver Broncos

The Broncos dropped the ball when they have Bailey a four-year contract during the off-season, especially how age has finally caught up with him. Just like Trufant, cornerbacks are in need and there are sure to be playoff contenders who could use his services.

Brian Dawkins SS - Denver Broncos

We know there is already a connection with the Broncos and the Patriots. It would make sense for the Patriots to be on the phone trying to bring Dawkins over to give some stability to their secondary. Even at 38 years old, he can still play.
