2011 Popular Halloween Costumes Based on Movies

Lots of exciting new movies came out, or are set to release, in 2011. The most popular movies often help determine which Halloween costumes we will see each year. Which will be the most popular Halloween costumes based on movies in October 2011?

Breaking Dawn Part 1: Bella, Edward, Jacob and anything to do with vampires or werewolves will be hot once again. With the recent release of Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn Part 1 set to be released in November 2011, the Twilight trend will not be dying out anytime soon.

Kung Fu Panda 2: Po the Giant Panda, being the protagonist, will likely be the most popular character costume. Others might go with Master Shifu, Master Oogway or one of the Furious Five. The animated movie Kung Fu Panda 2 was released in theaters in May 2011.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides: Pirates have been popular as Halloween costumes for the last few years, and they will continue to be for Halloween 2011. This is due to Johnny Depp making another appearance as Jack Sparrow in the newest Pirates movie this year.

Black Swan: A psychological thriller, the movie Black Swan intrigued viewers with its dark performance of the popular ballet, Swan Lake. The black swan is likely to steal the show, but a duo might dress up one as each swan.

Mr. Popper's Penguins: Jim Carrey plays a businessman who inherits six penguins in Mr. Popper's Penguins . One might dress up for Halloween as the man from the movie, and carry six stuffed penguins as accessories, or as one of the penguins from the movie: Stinky, Lovey, Louty, Bitey, Captain and Nimrod.

Cars 2: This new release has been a hit with young children, who might want to wear a costume inspired by their favorite Cars character this Halloween. Popular choices might be: Mater, Lightning McQueen, Holley Shiftwell and Professor Z, among various others.

Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon: We've seen little Transformers over the past few years, and that trend will continue into Halloween 2011. It's all about the robots; we will see Bumblebee, Optimus Prime and and even the dark Megatron again this year.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2: Since the Potter movies started rolling out, Harry has been a popular costume choice for both youngsters and adults -- not to mention those of his friends, Ron and Hermione. Other Harry Potter costumes include: Professor Snape, Moaning Myrtle, Voldemort, Hedwig the owl, dragons and the list goes on.
