2011 Quarterback QB Rankings - UPDATED: August 12, 2011

1. Aaron Rodgers - GB ----- Rodgers is simply a fantasy football stud QB in the prime of his career right now. With oodles of young and talented offensive weapons at his disposal, to go along with what should be solid offensive line play once again in Green Bay this season, there is little reason to believe that Rodgers will not be challenging for league MVP honors this year. Not to mention it is downright scary to think that Rodgers is only 27 years old. 30-35 touchdown passes and 200 plus rushing yards is easily within reach for Rodgers during the 2011 season.

2. Michael Vick - Phi ----- *OVERRATED* ----- After a huge comeback season last year, Vick is flying high on fantasy football rankings entering the 2011 season. However with a proven track record of injuries, it seems like a near guaranteed occurrence that Vick will eventually get injured and be forced to miss some time or possibly games at some point during the 2011 season. I know the fantasy football scoring potential is extremely high for Vick, however I am not the type of manager who is willing to take on the risk of drafting Vick too early in my fantasy football draft this year. Give me Drew Brees or Tom Brady over Vick if you want a safer and cheaper QB for your fantasy football team this season. Or you could even wait for Peyton Manning or Philip Rivers a good 10 picks after Vick is likely to be drafted, and still get excellent value at the QB position for your fantasy football team this year.

3. Drew Brees - NO ----- Following an interception nightmare season for Brees in 2010, fantasy football managers should be happy to see that Brees enters the 2011 season with the lowest fantasy football QB ranking and price tag that he has had in 3 years. If Brees falls in your fantasy football draft, don't be one of the teams who passes on him. Another 30 plus passing touchdown and 4,500 passing yard season seems like a safe bet to expect from Brees in 2011.

4. Tom Brady - NE ----- Nearly a dream stat season for Brady and fantasy football teams in 2010, as Brady tallied a remarkable 36 passing touchdowns to just 4 interceptions. Now add into the mix former pro-bowl WR Chad Ochocinco, as well as a much healthier Wes Welker, and a more experienced TE tandem of Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez, and Brady has all the pieces in place to replicate his 2010 passing stats again in 2011. Another 30 plus passing touchdowns is easily within reach for Brady during the 2011 season.

5. Philip Rivers - SD ----- So maybe the Giants wanted Eli Manning over Philip Rivers back in 2004, but here in 2011, fantasy football managers definitely want Rivers on their team this season. Entrenched in the prime of his career at age 29, Rivers should continue to be the heart and soul of the Chargers offense, and another season of 4,500 passing yards and 30 passing touchdowns is absolutely attainable for Rivers in 2011.

6. Peyton Manning - Ind ----- Entering the 2011 season at age 35, Manning is coming off of two consecutive 33 touchdown pass seasons and is still one of the most reliable fantasy football QB in the league right now. Manning's offseason surgery on May 23 to repair a bulging disk in his neck is somewhat concerning, however all signs point to Manning being healthy and fully healed by Week 1 to start the regular season, so fantasy football teams should not be too worried. With a healthy Dallas Clark returning to the Colts lineup, as well as the resigning of Joseph Addai, Manning should be poised to once again tally stats in the range of 30 passing touchdowns and 4,500 passing yards.

7. Matt Ryan - Atl ----- *VALUE PICK* ----- Entering his fourth season in the NFL, Ryan has quietly gone about his business as a pro-bowl QB who has thus far kept himself out of the fantasy football spotlight. After tallying a rock solid 3,705 passing yards and 28 touchdown passes to just 9 interceptions, Ryan has all the offensive tools in place to tally his first 30 touchdown pass and 4,000 passing yard season in the NFL in 2011. If rookie WR Julio Jones can contribute early in the season, Ryan and the Falcons offense could be a nightmare for opposing defenses this season. 30 passing touchdowns and 4,000 passing yards is possible for Ryan in 2011.

8. Tony Romo - Dal ----- Coming back from a broken collarbone that ended his 2010 season early, Romo should be 100% fully healthy to begin the 2011 season. With receiving weapons that include the reliable Miles Austin and Jason Witten, to go along with the potential breakout of Dez Bryant, Romo should be a pretty safe QB pick for fantasy football teams in 2011. A season of 25 touchdown passes is easily within reach.

9. Matt Schaub - Hou ----- The emergence of Arian Foster to the Texans running game last season definitely took away some passing attempts for Schaub last season, however with Foster adding balance to the Texans offense as well as having a skill set that makes him an excellent receiving back, Schaub's passing stats should continue to excel once again in 2011. Add in the return of a healthy Owen Daniels this season, and Schaub will have his favorite dump off option back as well as an excellent red zone target. Stats in the range of 25-30 touchdown passes and 4,500 passing yards is very likely for Schaub in 2011.

10. Ben Roethlisberger - Pit ----- Entering last season with a 4 game suspension, Roethlisberger was on the downswing as a fantasy football QB option. However Roethlisberger was clearly up for the challenge, as posted an excellent 2010 season that included 17 touchdown passes to just 5 interceptions over 12 games. At age 29 for the 2011 season, Roethlisberger is in the prime of his career and clearly ready to continue his success as a solid starting QB option for fantasy football teams in 2011.

11. Kevin Kolb - Ari ----- *BREAKOUT* ----- Yes there are plenty of question marks about Kolb's ability to actually be a franchise QB in the NFL, and whether Kolb can be an every week starting QB for fantasy football teams in 2011. However when you already have a pro-bowl WR like Larry Fitzgerald at your disposal, as well as the opportunity to play in what will likely be a defensively weak division, the potential for a huge breakout season is absolutely within reach for Kolb in 2011. Fantasy football teams could be looking at reeling in a top 5 scoring QB, from a guy who was drafted around the #15 spot among all QB entering the 2011 season. If all goes well, Kolb could be pushing stats in the range of 25-30 touchdown passes and 4,500 passing yards in 2011.

12. Josh Freeman - TB ----- *UNDERRATED* ----- If you happened to be one of the fantasy football teams who picked up Freeman to start at QB for your team in the final few weeks of the season last year, then odds are pretty high that you know just how good Freeman could be during the 2011 season. 25 touchdown passes to go along with 200 rushing yards and a few rushing touchdowns, could easily put Freeman among the top 10 highest scoring fantasy football QB in 2011.

13. Eli Manning - NYG

14. Joe Flacco - Bal ----- *UNDERRATED*

15. Jay Cutler - Chi

16. Matthew Stafford - Det ----- Like everyone else who knows fantasy football, I love Stafford's potential to finally put up excellent stats this season. However, until he can prove that he can stay healthy and play for a full season, it is hard to risk drafting Stafford too high. I think if Stafford is still available after the first 15 QBs are taken in your fantasy football draft, then it seems safe to gamble on Stafford at that point.

17. Sam Bradford - StL ----- *BREAKOUT CANDIDATE* ----- The offseason additions of WR Mike Sims-Walker and rookie TE Lance Kendricks to the Rams passing attack could easily pay huge dividends for Bradford and fantasy football teams in 2011. Add in the playmaking skills of a healthy Donnie Avery, as well two young and productive WRs in Danny Amendola and Danario Alexander, and the Rams offensive attack could be better than many would expect in 2011. A 25 touchdown pass season is definitely within reach for Bradford in just his sophomore season.

18. Donovan McNabb - Min

19. Matt Cassel - KC

20. Kyle Orton - Den

21. Ryan Fitzpatrick - Buf

22. Mark Sanchez - NYJ

23. David Garrard - Jac

24. Matt Hasselbeck - Ten

25. Jason Campbell - Oak

26. *Cam Newton - Car

27. Tim Tebow - Den ----- *OVERRATED* ----- As long as Kyle Orton is in Denver, Tebow is nothing more than a high reward bench warmer on fantasy football teams to begin the 2011 season.

28. Carson Palmer - Cin (NA)

29. Chad Henne - Mia

30. Colt McCoy - Cle

31. Tarvaris Jackson - Sea

32. Rex Grossman - Was

33. Alex Smith - SF

34. *Andy Dalton - Cin

35. John Beck - Was

36. *Jake Locker - Ten

37. *Colin Kaepernick - SF

38. *Blaine Gabbert - Jac

39. *Christian Ponder - Min

40. Jimmy Clausen - Car

41. Vince Young - Phi

42. Bruce Gradkowski - Cin

43. Matt Moore - Mia

44. Derek Anderson - Car

45. Trent Edwards - Oak

46. Jordan Palmer - Cin

47. Brady Quinn - Den

48. Charlie Whitehurst - Sea

49. Kyle Boller - Oak
