2011 SAG Awards Red Carpet Report: Best Dressed Celebs Include "Black Swan" Co-Stars, More [See Photos]
2011 SAG Awards Red Carpet Winner: Angie Harmon, pretty in pink. When I first saw the actress in her uber-feathered strapless pink ballgown by Monique Lhuillier, I cringed, a-choo'd, and thought 'aftermath of a brutal fight with a feather duster'. But when I looked again, I had a change of heart and appreciated the look for its fitted bodice and floaty, fairy tale appeal. What's the fun of being a famous actress if you can't embrace your inner princess now and then? I just hope she wasn't seated next to anyone with a feather allergy.
2011 Screen Actors Guild Red Carpet Knockout: Sofia Vergara, blue bombshell. Va-va-va-voom! The "Modern Family" actress was a bona fide knockout in her long, curve-hugging bright blue gown by Robert Cavalli. A plunging neckline showed off her tremendous assets, and the dress fit her so perfectly that it could've been painted on (in a good way). She finished her stunning ensemble as many of her fellow celebs did with long, loose locks.
2011 Screen Actors Guild Best Dressed Preggo: Natalie Portman, wonder in white. The "Black Swan" starlet, who capped off her evening with a win in the Best Actress category, glowed like a mama-to-be should in her long, strapless pure white fitted Azzaro gown with silver accents. (Of course, it also didn't hurt that she was able to cap the look with two million dollars in gorgeous Tiffany jewelry. Not to take a thing away from Natalie, but anyone could glow like an angel when adorned with that much bling.)
2011 SAG Awards Best Dressed Winner: Mila Kunis, ravishing in red. Portman's "Black Swan" co-star gushed to E! correspondent Guiliana Rancic that her Alexander McQueen number was the "most comfortable dress I've ever worn." And indeed, her long flowing frock, comprised of layers of near-ethereal-looking fabric in a palette of reds, browns and pinks sure did look comfy and elegant. She completed the outfit with a Cartier bracelet and wavy, loose locks.
2011 SAG Awards Red Carpet Winner: Kyra Sedgwick, beauty in black. Okay, so I'll be the first to admit that the frock itself reminded me of my good friend's prom dress circa 1996, but "The Closer" actress was nothing but sleek sophistocation in a basic black vintage couture Thierry Mugler. The velvety texture and plunging neckline fit her well, as did her vintage Cartier earrings and loose, tousled hair.
2011 SAG Awards Red Carpet Winner: Jennifer Lawrence, bright babe. It's risky to roll with a super bright neon color, but the "Winter's Bone" actress absolutely rocked her hot pink Oscar de la Renta. The unconventional shoulder straps added an extra dimension to the frock and black accents at the waistline and via her sparkly clutch made the entire ensemble extra eye-catching. Now I could've done without the ultra-severe 'do -- especially since loose locks seemed to rule the evening -- but hey, we can't have it all, right?
Honorable Mention: Hillary Swank. I hemmed and hawed and hemmed some more over Hillary's look. I loved the style of her single-shouldered, golden accented Versace dress, loved her loose, wavy hair, loved her make-up. But I hated the color of the dress, which was so close to the actress' skintone that it made her look oddly washed out. An A+ for the style, but a D for the color.
Which star do you think rocked the red carpet at the 2011 SAG Awards and earned your personal best dressed nod?
