2011 Schedule: NFC East

The 2011 Schedules for New York (Giants), Dallas, Philadelphia & Washington

Tommy Hayfield
The National Football Conference East has four teams: Dallas. Washington, Philadelphia & New York (Giants). Three of these teams I believe have enough talent to earn a playoff spot in 2011. In 2011 Dallas should be significantly improved from last year's turbulent team. The Giants in 2011 will have healed some of the injuries that slowed them down last season. The Eagles will still be good with either Kevin Kolb or Michael Vick at quarterback. The Redskins have significant problems competing in the NFC East against the other way more talented teams.

National Football Conference East

Dallas Cowboys
Dallas fired head coach Wade Phillips after a horrible start last year and hired offensive-minded Jason Garret and the team responded instantly with a renewed focus...this year looks to be a turnaround year for the Cowboys who were thought to be very talented last year but missed the playoffs with that bad start. Dallas faces the league's 15th toughest schedule in 2011: this year's opponents had a 129-127 record last year. The Cowboys will travel 20,232 miles to road games this year. Here's the 2011 schedule for the Dallas Cowboys.

New York Giants
The Giants in 2011 face a schedule which is rated as the NFL's 22nd toughest: this year's opponents posted a 126-130 record last year. In 2011 the New York Giants will travel 15,428 miles to road games. Giants head coach Tom Coughlin led the Giants to ten wins in 2010, but this year the NFC East will be much improved it would appear with the Cowboys having found a renewed focus with the midseason change at head coach. Eli Manning will be as good as the offensive injuries on the Giants allows him to be. They might have a hard time repeating the victory total of last year despite the capability of their offense. Here's the 2011 schedule for the New York Giants.

Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles have a high upside with quarterback Michael Vick though his relatively small frame concerns me as I look into the future and wonder how the Eagles will fare. The down side with Vick is that his stature which helps him be so elusive also makes him vulnerable to being injured. If Philadelphia retains the services of backup quarterback Kevin Kolb I like their chances of doing well this year however, the rumors are flying he'll be playing somewhere else soon...I guess we'll find out soon. The 2011 Eagles have the NFL's 17th toughest schedule: this year's opponenets posted a 129-127 record last year. Philadelphia will travel 13,276 miles to road games in 2011. Here's the 2011 schedule for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Washington Redskins
Washington is the weakest team in the NFC East though veteran quarterback Donovan McNabb makes the most out of little as ever. He'll win games with mirrors and average wide receivers. He could use someone to occasionally stretch out the field and open up short patterns; though we're accustomed to never hearing that type of analysis speed at wide receiver helps. The Redskins have the NFL's 29th toughest schedule in 2011: this year's opponents posted a 121-135 record last year. Washington will travel 12,392 miles to road games in 2011. Here's the 2011 schedule for the Washington Redskins.
