2011 Schedule for the Oakland Raiders: Game-By-Game Predictions

Will They Go 6-0 in the AFC West Again?

Gary Davis
I have already said in another article that I think the Oakland Raiders will come in third in the AFC West. However, I have the right to change my mind as I go through their schedule game-by-game. The Oakland Raiders had an odd result in 2010. They went 6-0 in their division, the AFC West. They swept the Champion Kansas Chiefs, underachieving San Diego Chargers as well as the hapless Denver Broncos. What will happen to the Oakland Raiders in the 2011 season?

I am using FB Schedules' website for the "2011 schedule of the Oakland Raiders."

The Oakland Raiders against the AFC West:

I believe the Oakland Raiders will split the games with their opponents in the AFC West. It is true they went 6-0 in 2010, but they will not be seeing the same teams. They will go 3-3 in the division.

The Oakland Raiders on the road against non-divisional teams:

In 2011 the Oakland Raiders are on the road against the Patriots, Jets, Texans, Bears and Packers. They struggled against non-divisional teams in 2010 but I predict they will upset the Jets and Green Bay. They will lose to the Chicago Bears, Houston Texans and New England Patriots. That will give them a 2-3 record on the road against teams not in the AFC West.

The Oakland Raiders at home against non-divisional teams:

At home against teams outside of the AFC West, the Raiders will face the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings. I have a very hard time here. Believe it or not, I think the team who will upset the Raiders at home will be Cleveland. Previously I had given the Raiders a 3-2 home record and gave them an overall record of 8-8. While I am tempted to say they will go 4-1 and end up 9-7, I just cannot see them beating the Lions, who I think will be tough, so I stick with a record of 8-8. They lose to the Lions and Browns and beat the Dolphins, Bills and Vikings.

However, I will always be honest with the reader. This is one team record where an argument for a 9-7 record is probably viable.

If you're going to write an article about the schedule and predictions, you should know the home and away schedule. Your home and away games are completely wrong and you have no clue who will be on the teams. This is your job, get it right.

Utterly pointless. We have no idea what rosters are going to be like yet since we're still pre-draft and pre-free agency. It's too early to make ANY kind of credible prediction. Seriously this "article" is purposeless drivel.

You do not know what you are talking about. The Raiders are AT HOME against New England, the Bears and the Jets.

Here is a credible website for home games:
