On October 1st and 2ND the Silicon Valley held its second annual film festival at the beautiful Santa Clara Convention Center. For those two days fans and film makers alike viewed short films, music videos and documentaries and then voted for their favorite.

The following awards were given:

Best Innovation and Leadership - The Shockley Tapes

Best Green Earth Film - Among Giants

Best Music Video - Chapel Song

Best Vision of the Future - ReplikAAA

Best Animated Short - Dream Escape

Best Documentary - Challenging Impossibility

Best Short Film - Lab Rats

Best of Festival - Boxed Up

The awards were presented to the winners by the Silicon Valley's politicians that have a sense of humor. Hence San Jose did not attend. Gracing the stage were Sunnyvale's Mayor Melinda Hamilton, Mountain Views Vice- Mayor Michael Kasperiak, Milpitas' Mayor Jose Esteves and Santa Clara Council Member Kevin Moore.

All those in attendance also had the opportunity to attend the Question and Answer sessions and learn from industry professionals. Day one's Q and A was moderated by Kenneth Hughes with insights from Jim Cummings and covered how to make films with any type of budget. This was very helpful for all of the budding film makers in attendance.

The second Q and A was with P.J. Pereira, the Chief Creative Officer of "Inside," the first interactive social horror film experience. This was a captivating talk explaining the making of the film and how the "social network" made the film a sensation.

Congratulations to all of the winners and participants in this year's festival!
