2011 Spring and Summer Curly Hairstyles

Give that Curl a Sexy Swoop

Angel Vee
Curls are so hot for spring/summer 2011. No matter where you go your going to see ruffled up curls, loose waves, tight spirals, punky updos, and even side bun that are scrunched curly and not smoothed out.

For some people these looks are very easy to achieve, while others have a difficult time. With that being said, I'm going to give you easy to follow instructions so you can have that fun, hip, and trendy curl that many will envy.

Curly Side Bun

First decide which side you want the bun. Does it make a difference? No not really, but on certain people one side usually comes out better for some odd reason.

Next place a smoothing serum on the top of the hair. Just a drop is all that's needed. Comb the hair flat, and make sure it's not free on top.

Gather the rest of the hair into a ponytail and secure it with a band. Now if your hair is straight curl the whole ponytail using a flat iron, or curling iron. I prefer a curling iron for this look. Once the whole section is curled take your fingers and lightly run through it. Then grab a comb and slightly tease each section of curl at the root only.

Spray with a light hairspray and poof it out a little. I know when you think bun you think wrapping the hair around. However, the reason this look is called a curly bun is, because when you are all finished with the look it resembles a big round bun without the wrapping.

The Sexy Swoop

You'r thinking what the heck is a swoop right? Well, this style is created by making a extreme side part, then loosely gathering the hair to go over your forehead and pushing it up to one side. It's almost like your making a U on your forehead. Then adding a decorative bobby pin, barrette, or a miniature butterfly clip.

The swoop is great for women, men, and even kids. Wear it with layers, straight, or real curly.

Big And Fluffy

Big 80's hair is still going to be hot so when you put a small poof on top and huge soft barrel curls on the sides and bottom you have that 80's look with a twist of the 2011 trend, which is soft and fluffy curls.

To do this style, take small sections of hair and create huge barrel curls. You can use the biggest barrel curling iron, rollers, or cans. Once the whole head is curled run your fingers through it, and loosen it up slightly. Then flatten out the top section of the hair. Then lift the roots up using the end of a comb to give you that slight poof. Lift in the crown area as well. Shake your head upside down and lightly spray the curls.

Tousled Mess

Why not wear it curly and messy that's the style right now? This style is easy to achieve. Take a medium size barrel curling iron and curl the entire head. Give your head a few shakes and let it go.

I could never get my hair curly. Years ago, whenever I went for a perm, the hairdresser would make me sign a form stating that it might not work.
