Steamboat Springs Ski Resort offers 165 trails to the avid skier. There are trails for all levels of skiing as well as nordic trails. The longest ski trail at Steamboat Springs Ski Resort is Why Not and it's a little over 3 miles or 4.8km. There are 18 lifts that will take you to your next slope for a fabulous downhill run.
The mountain air is clean, the scenery is breathtaking, and you'll meet lots of friendly staff and skiers at Steamboat Springs. Located 160 miles northwest of Denver, Steamboat Springs does not have the crowded lines from the Denver day trippers so you can ski at your own pace.

December 31: New Year's Eve Torchlight Parades & Fireworks. The torchlight parade begins at 7 pm and the best viewing is at Gondola Square. A bright and festive annual event that's free for everyone and will conclude with a fireworks display.
January 11-13: 27th Annual Women's Ski Camp at Steamboat Springs Ski Resort. PSIA certified coaches will lead this camp under the direction of Olympic Gold Medalist Deb Armstrong and Olympian Caroline Lalive. Camp begins daily from 8 am-3pm and is geared for intermediate and above skiers. A women's only camp that's fun-filled with a dinner, lunches, a cocktail party, gifts, special deals, and camaraderie. January 14-20: National Safety Awareness Week. Focusing on safety and responsible skiing, this event has a variety of activities planned to keep you informed and help you become more aware of mountain safety measures. There will be mountain safety tips, back country avalanche awareness, and helmet checks among other activities. Special deals on helmets, avalanche beacon demos, and a Safety Awareness Poster contest will also take place during this week-long event. For more information, please call 970 879-6111 x0.
January 18: 37th Annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill. A very popular event in Steamboat Springs, bring your cowboy hat and spurs! Over 100 Pro-Rodeo cowboys take to the slopes for a day of fun and awards. Events begin at Noon and the Slalom begins at 4pm ending with the traditional Stampede. At 5:30 pm the Cowboy Downhill Awards will be announced.
February 2-6: The Annual Winter Carnival at Steamboat Springs. Many activities will take place during this annual event and fundraiser. Come join the fun and participate in ski jumping, a dual slalom bicycle race, a tubing party, a snowboarding jam session, an outdoor adventure film festival or slideshow, and a telemark revival and international muzzleloading biathon. There'll be a night show with fireworks and the Lighted Man on Saturday. Make sure you purchase a Winter Carnival button to help support the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club.
February 8-10: 27th Annual Women's Ski Camp at Steamboat Springs Ski Resort. See January 11-13 above for more details.
February 14: Valentine's Day Torchlight Parade & Fireworks. Sponsored by Spring this free event hosts a torchlight parade and fireworks beginning at 7 pm. The best viewing is in Gondola Square.
February 26-March 5: The National Brotherhood of Skiers. This year, Steamboat Springs is hosting the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS) for their bi-annual event. This week long event will host approximately 5,000 NBS members from all over the country and the United Kingdom.
February 26: Rocks the 'Boat Free Concert Series. Bud Light sponsors this popular event and music series. This is the first free music concert beginning from 3 pm - 5 pm at Gondola Square. Other concert dates are March 4, 19, 26, and April 2, 10. Bands will be announced later. For more information, please call 970 879-6111 x0.

Getting to Steamboat Springs Ski Resort is easy. You can fly in on American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and United Airlines to Steamboat/Hayden Airport. If you're coming from Denver, take I-70 West to Exit #205 in Silverthorne. Head north on Highway 9 until you come to Kremmling, then head west on Highway 40 until you reach Steamboat Springs Ski Resort. Driving time from Denver is approximately 3-4 hours.
