2011 Summer Television Shows Worth Your Time

Jane Vee
This summer television has been more enjoyable than all the seasons put together. The line-up ranges from drama to action to murder and mystery. Prime time during the summer season is better than all the soap operas put together. Some of these shows are witty, dramatic, and even showcase sarcasm at its best.

Two of the new favorite shows are "Suits" on USA and "Franklin and Bash" on TNT. Both of these shows are about lawyers and the law, or at least that is the idea behind them. "Franklin and Bash" is a comedy drama. The show makes you wish you knew lawyers like Franklin and Bash.

"Suits" is a drama that has subtle comedy. These lawyers are more realistic in dress and attitude. If you want a believable drama about lawyers with drama and comedy, try "Suits" on for size.

Another show that includes lawyers is "Drop Dead Diva" on Lifetime Network. This drama is far from reality. It focuses on the people surrounding the main character, Jane and her personal life. This is a great show if you want to forget about reality.

"The Glades" on A&E started out as an excellent mystery drama. Since the first season, it has become a romantic nightmare. The two characters are not sure whether they love each other and want to commit, so it is a back and forth every episode. Of course, one is married, but wants a divorce and the other is reuniting with an old flame. It is a borderline soap opera with a mystery thrown in.

"Hawthorne" on TNT is another show that has turned into a soap opera. The show is full of drama and sometimes even action packed. The characters draw you into the show. The storyline revolves around the hospital.

"Royal Pains" on USA is a medical drama with family and relationships centered in the storyline. It is action packed and there is always someone needing help, whether medical or personally Hank is there.

If you are looking for a show with sarcasm and wit, "In Plain Sight" on USA is for you. The show is action packed and you never find yourself waiting for the hour to pass. The characters have chemistry that draws you into their circle.

"White Collar" and "Covert Affairs", both on USA, are action packed and keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters have such charisma you believe their stories. "White Collar" is FBI and "Covert Affairs" is CIA. Both have undercover operations and missions that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

New on USA this summer is a show based around psychology. "Necessary Roughness" is a great escape for those looking for a drama that unfolds in a hour.

As summer comes to an end you will be waiting for the reruns of these shows. They are great shows to watch this summer.
