2011 Valentine's Day Box Ideas for Boys

Here are some new Valentine's box ideas for boys. Valentine's Day might not be every boy's favorite holiday, but they'll have fun creating these less-girly Valentine's Day boxes:

Valentine's Day Box Ideas for Boys: Welcome to the Jungle

This is a fun idea for a Valentine's Day box that isn't red and pink. You'll need some light green paper; darker green paper; a black marker and a brown marker; glue; and small plastic bugs, lizards, and snakes. First you'll want to cover the entire shoebox with light green paper. Next, draw branches all over the box with the brown marker. Now you can cut out different sizes of hearts from the darker green paper, using the black marker to draw "veins" on them to make them look like heart-shaped leaves. You can then glue your leaves all over the branches, finishing your boy's Valentine's Day box by gluing the creepy crawlers on the branches and leaves. This is one of the easiest Valentine's Day box ideas for boys, but it's also creative and cute without being girly at all.

Valentine's Day Box Ideas for Boys: Heart Monster

And here's another Valentine's Day box idea for boys that uses hearts without being too girly. For it you will want to cover a shoebox with pink paper, cutting a hole shaped like a mouth on the box to form the slot for the Valentines (be sure to leave room above it for the rest of the monster's face). You can then use pieces of white and red paper to give your monster teeth and tongue, also giving him heart-shaped eyes and ears. If you want a 3D effect, you can glue pink strips of paper with hands on the sides of the box, bringing them together in front of it and gluing a heart-shaped Valentine in the hands (making it look like the monster is holding a Valentine in front of him). Of course you can get really creative with this idea by giving the monster horns, heart-shaped spots, or even using red furry material to give him a little texture. It's the creativity involved that makes this one of the best Valentine's Day box ideas for boys.

Valentine's Day Box Ideas for Boys: Zombie Valentine

This is one of the best Valentine's Day box ideas for boys that are zombie fans. You'll want to cover a shoebox with red paper, cutting a slot for the Valentines. Then you can print out colored pictures of cartoon zombies (if you can't create your own, that is) from the internet, cutting them out and pasting them onto the box. For the finishing touch, either cut out heart shapes from pink paper, drawing squiggly lines on them to make them look like brains and glue them on the box, or print out brain pictures from the internet, cutting them into heart shapes to make the perfect zombie Valentine's Day gifts to one another.

Valentine's Day Box Ideas for Boys: Dragon Tattoo

For this idea, all you'll need (besides a shoebox) is pink paper, a pencil, a red marker, and a few computer printouts. You'll want to do an image search for "dragon tattoo", printing out whichever serpentine dragon shapes you like the best. You'll then want to trace or copy the dragon's heads onto the pink paper with a pencil. Afterward, draw on their serpentine bodies, but alter them to make them in a heart shape, with the tail meeting back up with the head. Once you've got the drawings the way you want in pencil, trace over them with the red marker and erase any remaining pencil lines. This idea takes a little more artistic talent, but it's worth the cool final result.

So from creepy crawlers to monsters and zombies, the Valentine's Day box ideas for boys here will definitely stand out and not leave boys feeling embarrassed on such a girly holiday.
