Belts
According to Nicole Thomas of Gateway Bridal who was interviewed on Utah Bride and Groom, belts are a bridal accessory trend that has been seen all over the runways ever since Chelsea Clinton donned one during her wedding. Thomas stated that rhinestone and crystal are the favored belt styles. But satin belts are also another option for those who don't want to go the jeweled route.
Some designers offered wedding dress belts in a detachable format to give brides more options. Be sure when you buy your dress to note if the belt is sewn to the dress or detachable, this could make all the difference to you later on.
The side bow trend that has graced 2011 wedding gowns on the catwalks has turned up on the clutch bags as well. Judith Bieber offers some excellent bow clutch bag options in her new collection (see here) and each is lined with blue satin.
Of course the timeless and standard trend of pearl and crystal encrusted bridal clutch bags is still in favor, classic and elegant this trend will likely never go out of style
Comfortable shoes have been a rising bridal trend in the last few years and this year is no different; flip flops and TOMS shoes are still making the list for bridal options.
If you don't want to go full-on comfort, you can opt for kitten heels or platform heels as a middle of the road choice, both are burgeoning trends this year.
Flowers
The 2011 bridal shows were not sans flowers; in fact, flowers showed up just about everywhere: in the hair, on the accessories, adorning ribbon chokers around the neck as jewelry, and on the gowns. Flowers are nothing new to bridal accessories and bridal fashion in general but this year the flowers got bigger, taking on a three-dimensional quality
2011 Women's Bridal Accessory Trends: Conclusion
The 2011 bridal accessory trends are many and varied, there should be no bride left out of the mix with this assortment of style options. If you have your dress already, you'll have lots of fun picking out a few of this year's feminine and eye-catching accessories to accentuate your look, and if you don't have the dress picked out yet, browsing the accessories should help you decide.
I look forward to seeing some of the high profile weddings to come this year (Prince William and Kate Middleton just to name one couple) to see which accessory trends these celebrity brides choose.
