2012 - the Apocalypse and the Mayan Crystal Skulls

Many movies have been made out the end of the world, the most recent being 2012. So is the 2012 legend and the legend of the Mayan crystal skulls just another y2k conspiracy? Doomsday or beginning of a new and golden age?

We are now in the last cycle of the Mayan calendar, the 12'th cycle, the 13'th cycle is coming in December 21, 2012 which marks the end of the Mayan calendar. The Mayan crystal skulls have given clear and concise images of an impending disaster on the earth. It is foretold that a dramatic shift in the rotation of the sun and the earth will cause an epidemic of major natural disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes and tsunamis. This could be the end of life on our planet as we know it, or maybe a period of transformation and renewal.

This dire scenario is said to be inevitable unless all or most of the real 13 crystal skulls are reunited so their energy can combine and work together to prevent the climate change. Some may announce their presence by using a psychic field or energy to communicate with the other crystal skulls that have not been found causing them to activate and contribute their energy.

The period of time we are now entering is called the "awakening" which symbolizes the awakening or activating of the crystal skulls. The skulls are believed to become active at places of power like Giza or Tikal in Egypt. Mayan and Egyptian cultures are not the only ones to give mention of life on other planets - Native American legends say that there are 13 planets in the universe that have life and each planet is represented by a crystal skull. One day life on all of the planets will be united. A link to quantum star gates and the Mayan crystal skulls is believed to exist. A doorway, or star gate, will be opened when the crystal skulls are activated. Since most of the crystal skulls are thought to have healing properties, it is believed that the skulls will deliver us from the impending disaster.

The Mayan calendar is known for its predictions of an Apocalypse particularly focusing on the end of humanity. The crystal skulls of legend are thought to have held the information for the Mayan calendar. In the Mayan culture the year 2012 is the year that the world as we know it will come to an end. The Mayan people prayed to the skulls and used them in elaborate rituals.

In Mayan history they wrote about humanoid shaped giants who caused great harm to the village. In a ritual a Mayan shaman would force the giant back into the cave; giants were afraid of any Mayan shaman who held a crystal skull. A human sacrifice was made regularly to appease the giants that would come out of their caves but sometimes the giants would come into the village anyway.

It is rumored that the Vatican possesses a large amount of the crystal skulls, but these skulls are smaller than most. There are also crystal skulls displayed at the Smithsonian Museum, but some of these are believed to be fake. One of the skulls was thought to be lost with the civilization of Atlantis.

Many people become obsessed with the legend of the crystal skulls and face many life-threatening dangers to possibly get closer to the skull. Some even falsely claim to be in possession of one of the crystal skulls, because of the possibility of attention that will be focused upon them. While many construct and circulate elaborate conspiracies that insist that our government knows about the end of the world and they have been doing what they can to prepare for it for years.
