2012 Second Base (2B) Sleepers
Jason Kipnis - Cle - 2B (24)
Entering the 2011 season as one of the top second base power hitting minor league prospects, Kipnis earned his major league call-up with the Indians in mid-July last season. Wasting no time in realizing his major league hitting potential, Kipnis immediately racked up 7 home runs, 9 doubles, and 5 stolen bases over just 136 at bats in the Indians lineup. With the starting 2B job his for the taking in Cleveland, Kipnis could easily become a 15 home run and 15 stolen base player during the 2012 season.
2011 Minor League Triple A Stats: 343 AB, 65 R, 12 HR, 55 RBI, 12 SB, .280 AVG
2011 Major League Stats: 136 AB, 24 R, 7 HR, 19 RBI, 5 SB, .272 AVG
2012 Stat Projections: 85 R, 15 HR, 70 RBI, 15 SB, .285 AVG
Jemile Weeks - Oak - 2B (25)
After receiving a June call-up, Weeks emerged as the Athletics everyday starting second baseman and leadoff hitter during the 2011 season. Displaying a better than anticipated hitting ability, Weeks managed to tally an outstanding .303 batting average over 406 at bats, while also adding in 22 stolen bases. With a full season of at bats expected for Weeks during the 2012 season, there is plenty of reason to believe that he could tally 30 plus stolen bases while also notching a batting average around .290.

2011 Major League Stats: 406 AB, 50 R, 2 HR, 36 RBI, 22 SB, .303 AVG
2012 Stat Projections: 85 R, 5 HR, 50 RBI, 30 SB, .290 AVG
Jose Altuve - Hou - 2B (21)
With a successful major league debut under his belt from the 2011 season, Altuve is very young and speedy offensive player who should take over as the Astros' everyday starting second baseman, while also claiming the second spot in the batting order. A 30 stolen base season is easily within reach for Altuve in 2012, and if his power continues to develop he could also notch 10 home runs as well.
2011 Minor League Single A Stats: 213 AB, 38 R, 5 HR, 34 RBI, 19 SB, .404 AVG
