If we remember back to 1999, the world was going to end in 2000 and I remember this well. The dramatic and climatic stories were worse than teenagers around the fire at a campout. Planes were going to fall out of the sky, computers around the world were going to crash, Elvis Presley was going to return to earth with extra terrestrials to rule, and world war III was going to break out at any second. My relatives went on tirades about Jesus coming back, my friends freaked out and spent New Years Eve in their basements, the media screamed of impending doom! When the moment of truth came, nothing happened. Talk about a let down huh?
The truth of this is the media and dramatic people who have power issues, truly feed off of this fear based rumor spreading. None of the "prophecies" and "hidden meanings" have a positive aspect to any of them. Nuclear wars, world wars, end of it all, and on and on and nobody has one legitimate reason as to why. The supposed selected religious people touting doom and gloom, the people who know the aliens and tout ascension to some distant galaxy, or Sun Magazine with bat boy and Oprah taking over, none of them have any logic behind their stories. After going through "end of it all 2000," this follows all the same patterns of fear based ego and power trips to provide entertainment and maybe monetary gain for those who wish to exploit this.
The real basis for all of this comes down to nothing more than we are in the middle of a paradigm shift. Modern science, and the Newton way of doing things is being questioned and proven wrong by the advancements in quantum physics. Much of the same confusion and chaos happened when the theory that the earth was flat was proven wrong. Much of this simply comes down to a clash between the new and old. Anything that the mass numbers of people don't understand always generates fear and confusion, which gets put forth into the world in the form of chaos and wild outlandish theories.
Something to realize about the whole situation is that from the standpoint of all perspectives, no one is wrong about what they believe. The clash only comes from those who wish to push what they believe off on massive numbers of people with force. History has proven that this phenomenon has happened before. The best thing to take action with is to not give it constant attention. Many different groups and individuals love to start fights and just like last apocalypse, this is a great way to do it.
Behind the scenes of the chaos what is going on is an evolution of human thinking. Many ideas are being questioned, a movement from the old standard of good and bad, right and wrong and judgment is taking place. New ideas such as oneness, true equality, and unconditional love, not based in standard society ways are taking root and beginning to grow. Of course, that is going to cause a clash with the system that is currently in place. The last American presidential election was a great example of that. Those who are rooted in the old standard are naturally going to be upset and react strongly to this. Some people welcome it was want to see it through and develop. Some other people just want to throw in the towel or attempt stop evolution with the age old fear based rumor spreading. As for myself, I just keep on and try to be patient and welcome the day when things calm back down again!
I know I still haven't answered the question of what is going to happen or not happen. The truth is that I don't know. The universe probably doesn't even know yet. There are still infinity numbers of calculations and decisions that have to be made and it is too far away to know. If you don't buy the hype, and don't want to live in fear, just remember that now is all there really is, and you are safe. As we approach 2012, many things will be more evolved and I'm sure that things will calm down. My advice is to investigate, and decide what you believe to be true. I also advise against giving in to the guy on the Internet selling 2012 bomb shelters and t-shirts, that might be a waste of good money!
