2012 Oscar Dates Announced

It was a good move to engrave the Oscar statues the night the winners are revealed because it's time to announce plans for next year's show.
That's right, Tom Sherak, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has announced today (April 25) that Sunday, Feb. 26, the show will again air on ABC. It was also noted that a 90-minute red carpet show will be included, just like the show in March.
Meanwhile, the show will once again call the Kodak Theater, Hollywood and Highland, home of the show.
Key dates currently scheduled are. Times are Central:
Thursday, December 1, 2011: Official Screen Credits forms due
Tuesday, December 27, 2011: Nominations ballots mailed
Friday, January 13, 2012: Nominations polls close 7 p.m. CT
Tuesday, January 24, 2012: Nominations announced 7:30 a.m. CT,
Samuel Goldwyn Theater
Wednesday, February 1, 2012: Final ballots mailed
Monday, February 6, 2012: Nominees Luncheon
Saturday, February 11, 2012: Scientific and Technical Awards presentation
Tuesday, February 21, 2012: Final polls close 7 p.m.. CT)
Sunday, February 26, 2012: 84th Academy Awards presentation
Note: At the 83rd Academy Awards, it was the first time the envelopes were specifically designed for the show. Each winner now will have a their own keepsake instead of the ones done in the past.
