William Bass
The 2012 basketball recruiting class for the West Virginia University men's basketball is filled with size and speed. Leading the committed list for the 2012 season is 5-11 point guard Jabarie Hinds out of the same high school as current Mountaineer Kevin Jones, which is Mt. Vernon High School in New York. Jabarie Hinds chose West Virginia over Oklahoma State and UNLV. Hinds will more than likely take over the point guard position his freshman year while Truck Bryant will move to the two-guard. Hinds is quick off his feet and will provide the penetration into the paint that the Mountaineers need to get their big men involved in the game. Currently, Hinds is recognized by Scout.com as a 4-star recruit that can shoot, create and has outstanding ball handling ability.

Keaton Miles out of Lincoln High School in Dallas, Texas is a 6-6 forward that is athletic and a strong rebounder. Miles chose the Mountaineers over Arkansas, Baylor, Georgia Tech, Houston, Northwestern, SMU and Texas A&M. Keaton Miles will more than likely start at small forward his freshman year for the Mountaineers.

Tommie McCune a 6-8 power forward out of Saginaw, Michigan will get immediate playing time as a Mountaineer and will strong rebounder and defender that will thrive in Bobby Huggins system. McCune chose the Mountaineers over Dayton, Providence and Rhode Island.

Aaron Brown out of Yardley, Pennsylvania is projected to play the two-guard or small forward position for the Mountaineers. Brown is a strong penetrator with decent shooting ability. Brown will provide significant minutes for the Mountaineers during his freshman campaign. He chose the Mountaineers over Houston, La Salle, Rice, St. Joseph's (PA) and Temple.

Dominique Rutledge who is a 6-8 JUCO power forward from Western Texas will provide quality minutes for the Mountaineers immediately. Rutledge is strong facing the basket and can hit the mid-range jumper consistently. He'll provide great defense and rebounding for the Mountaineers. Rutledge is long and will bring the defense intensity game after game.

Pat Forsythe a 6-10 center from Brunswick, Ohio has improved his game consistently year after year. Forsythe will provide a big body that the Mountaineers have not had in the last few years. Forsythe is athletic and a strong rebounder that will contribute to the Mountaineer's program for years to come. He can hit the mid-range jumper consistently and is very nimble around the rim.

Overall, the West Virginia Mountaineers has a strong recruiting class that will keep the Mountaineers battling for the Big East title for years to come. Incorporating the freshman with current Mountaineer players Truck Bryant, Kevin Jones and Kevin Noreen will be a learning curve as Bob Huggins teaches the newcomers what Mountaineer basketball is all about. The Mountaineers should finish somewhere between 5-8 in the Big East next year but expect great things for years to come as Huggins starts getting his recruits to Morgantown, West Virginia.
