Review
This game is a very good revamp of the old retro style shooting games. 2079 allows you to control the ship by tilting the device and this is all very easy to do. You are able to fire your ship weapons by using the D-Pad that is located to the bottom right of the screen. If you find yourself in a situation that requires immediate attention you are able to send off a seeking missile by shaking the phone; this smart bomb will seek and destroy your enemy or any other threat that is close by. You just need to make sure you don't drift away from the D-Pad too often; otherwise it will be very hard to fire your weapons. You also can earn power ups in this game that gives you extra ships and multiplies your score for a set amount of time.
2079 is true to its nature of being a retro styling shooting and basically all you do is shoot, earn power ups and shoot some more. Survival mode is also available, and basically you are trying to get the highest score; the longer you stay alive the higher your score will be.
Pricing
This game is at a very low cost of $0.99 (USD) and can be downloaded from the iTunes store.
Conclusion
This is a very simple game that really is true to the old retro style shooting games. If you are into those types of games this is one I highly recommend. I also recommend if you would like to keep it simple, that you download it sooner rather than later as the developer of the game plans on updating it with more complex features that could make the game more complex. Given the great game play and simplicity of this game with all the features in the current version I give it a rating of 4.5 out of 5.
