Before giving you the list, I would like to give you a little more facts about the hand held hair dryer, which is also called a blow dryer. The hair dryer was invented toward the end of the 19th century, and in the 1920s a hand held hair dryer was invented that was made from zinc and steel, and had a wood handle.
But this dryer weighed 2 pounds, and produced only 100 watts of heat. So not only was this dryer heavy, it didn't dry your hair very well either, so they didn't catch on like people thought they would.
It wasn't until the 1950s that a lighter hand held hair dryer with higher wattage was invented. When this particular dryer hit the market, it became very successful, and was the beginning of blow dryers as we know them today.
Bed Sheets
If your sheets happen to be cold during the winter months, just warm them up with your hair dryer.
Frozen Pipes
If your water pipes freeze in the winter, you can un-freeze them by warm them up with your blow dryer.
Joint Compound
When you use joint compound for any reason, and want to speed up your drying time, use a hand held hair dryer.
Dusting
If you don't happen to have vacuum cleaner attachments to suck up the dust, you can blow cool air on the area that needs dusting, and this will blow the dust away. Do this on high places that's hard to reach, pleated lampshades, crevices, under appliances, and weird shaped or carved furniture.
Un-Stick Pictures
Use your blow dryer to blow warm air underneath the page, in the photo album, where your picture is stuck and this will free it from the page.

Seal Windows
Not what you're thinking! To determine if your windows need caulking, light a candle and hold in near the frame, while another person is outside with the blow dryer. Blow a stream of air toward the window frame, and if the flame flickers, then this is a sign that your windows should be caulked.

If your child should happen to get crayon on the wallpaper, just heat the crayon on hot, and when it melts, you can wipe it up a cloth.
Tablecloths And Shower Curtains
If you're using a just washed or new plastic tablecloth or shower curtain that has wrinkles in it, you can remove the wrinkles by blowing a stream of hot air on the item until the plastic softens and the wrinkles fall out.
Con-Tact Paper
Blow a stream of warm air on the edge of the con-tact paper until it softens, then you can begin peeling it up gently and slowly as you warm the rest of the paper.
Frozen Windows
If your windows happen to freeze shut in the during the winter, you can thaw them out by using your hand held hair dryer.
Candle Wax
Candle wax on your table or counter top can be removed by holding your hand held blow dryer about a inch away from the wax and heating it with warm air. When the wax melts, you can wipe it away.
Wet Shoes And Sneakers
Dry wet boots by putting your hand held hair dryer down into the boot, and blow a warm stream of air into it for about five minutes. Do the same with your sneakers.
Wet Rubber Gloves
Do the same as shoes and sneakers. Put the nozzle of your blow dryer inside the glove and blow a warm stream of air into them. This will dry them out.
Car Door Lock
If your car door lock becomes frozen, just use your hair dryer to thaw the lock out.
Bathroom Mirror
Use the blow dryer to remove steam from your bathroom mirror.
Cake Icing
Blow a warm stream of air from your blow dryer at your icing to set it.

Hot air from your hair dryer will soften your bandage so you can pull it off easily.
Salad Greens
If you ever need to dry salad greens, just put the hair dryer on cool and blow the moisture off your greens.
Bumper Sticker
Blow hot air on the sticker until the glue melts, then you can peel it up.
Automatic Ice Maker
If your ice maker ever becomes jammed by an overload of ice cubes, all you have to do is blow hot air on the ice cubes until they begin to melt and break apart.
This completes the list of 21 ways to use your hand held hair dryer. I hope you discovered a few ways you can use your hair dryer.
