Creativity, seductive siren tireless task mistress,
sings from out all artist's dreams
prodding and poking in vague memory streams
--
Through dim hours of the night
Her once hidden plan comes to light
--
For artists belabored, weary, even driven it seems,
works on in the darkness, giving life to imaginings
here yet unseen.
--
Should her promptings be unheeded
Her calls shall not cease
Till the artist tormented, gives up or gives in and creates
If not for art's glory, then out of shear lack of sleep.
