24 Reasons You Should Watch 24

Tim Searles
If you're not familiar with the show 24 is a high-action drama starring Keifer Sutherland as Jack Bauer. The show is based in Los Angeles and the usual premise deals with counterterrorist attacks, government conspiracy and/or relational issues. I wanted to present 24 reasons why you should watch this show which will be in its eighth season starting in January 2010.

1. It is a great compliment to the show "House" which also comes on the FOX Network.

2. What else is worth watching on Monday nights at 9pm/8c? You have to admit, Monday night on most major networks has never been as major as Tuesday or Thursday nights.

3. Keifer Sutherland playing Jack Bauer is a phenomenal fit for the show.

4. Chloe O'Brian with her quirkiness and technical prowess gives the show some great support.

5. Tony Almeida may come back... again... as a double agent!

6. Jack Bauer may actually get a girlfriend that he can hold on to and that won't get in danger this time. He hasn't had the best experience with relationships in the last seven seasons... wife died... last girlfriend had a breakdown going to China to save him...

7. Every new "day" seems to have a new president. Who wouldn't watch a show that's had two African-American presidents that were brothers?

8. Who wouldn't watch a show that has had a female president?

9. Any number of characters could come back at any given time... there are a ton of them who have just disappeared or was never found.

10. 24 is the only show I know where people never go to sleep for an entire day.

11. Los Angeles may not be the city getting terrorized this time...

12. We have to see Jack Bauer and his daughter work together at least one more time...

13. You know Jack Bauer is not going to die. What else would there be to 24 if that actually happened. He's not like 007 where they can replace him.

14. There are moments where they do MacGyver type maneuvers which are really cool...

15. The first few minutes of a season are some of the most explosive and eye-catching...

16. Just when you think the plot has nothing else, there's always a subplot happening...

17. There is still a Palmer existing - remember Sandra?

18. 24 is like a soap opera with a lot more movement and action.

19. The whole O'Brian family (Chloe, Morris, Prescott) is an interesting fit for the show but it works.

20. The show moves in real time - no gaps, nothing missing, every minute counts.

21. 24 is easy to watch without commercials. I saw the first six seasons that way and didn't feel like I missed a beat.

22. Renee was a good FBI agent; she might make a better CTU operative.

23. It makes you appreciate those people who really put their life on the line for our country. Whether on a local scene or an international scene, people really love this country.

24. Every hour (or every episode) builds on the previous hour (episode) so once you start you'll easily get hooked. You can't watch it in the middle; you have to follow it from the beginning.
