The Gulf of Mexico oil spill USGS update confirms America's greatest environmental fear. The Gulf oil spill continues to pour out 500,000 to 1 million gallons a day since April 20, 2010. That's well over the Exxon Valdez according to USA Today. Here are 25 Gulf oil spill questions to explore or answer with some self explanatory and others of concern.

If BP's "top kill" process plugs the oil spill will the pressure result in another burst in a different location?

Will the Gulf oil spill permanently change the way America conducts off-shore drilling?

If Barack Obama steps in and takes control with positive results would it be enough to boost votes in the next election?

Would the oil damage the oxygen levels in water enough to change the h2o chemical make-up?

If sharks swim away from oil where will they go?

Would the deflection of sunlight rise oil temperature?

Will temperatures over 100 (plus) F effect the oil?

If the water temperatures warm up will the oil spread more easily?

Could warm oil contribute to a more active hurricane season?

Would a hurricane be able to break up the oil spill and deliver the oil to other coastal areas by sea?

If a hurricane does allow remaining oil to reach the inside of homes due to storm surge would the government or local authorities offer a new form of funds to assist victims?

Would dead animals sinking to the bottom of the sea, in abundant decomposition, effect the water quality?

Would the BP oil spill alter the Gulf food chain of sealife since sealife that remains alive struggles to survive?

Will the oil spill find a way to enter coastal water systems should water pipes break or flooding occurs?

Would the surviving Gulf oil spill animals face changes to their DNA make-up or produce deformed offspring?

Will birds, seagulls and other winged creatures along with turtles, frogs, alligators and so on begin to move inland for a cleaner water source and food?

Does smoking in the Gulf pose a flammable risk?

Can people become sick along coastal areas where oil does reach?

Will the oil spill find a way overseas and will the foreign land(s) hold the U.S. or BP responsible if it does?

Could BP be facing the highest amount of lawsuits in American history?

Would a distant underwater earthquake or tremor effect the direction or position of the Gulf oil spill?

Could "hair booms" work in absorbing oil during clean-up?

Could boat engines become damaged, even when used for assessing the oil spill?

Is a financial award offered for the person that comes up with the best Gulf oil spill clean-up plan?

Can the oil spill be seen from outerspace?

Will oil rig employees, outside of BP, be given the rights to collect full financial government assistance after Obama sets in action the 6 month block against certain rig operations?

Has the oil entered sealife that is already on the way to one destination, your plate?

    The answer to most of these questions is yes, except for this -- one and it should be: "Is a financial award offered for the person that comes up with the best Gulf oil spill clean-up plan?"

    I don't know the answers to most of them, but I'll tell you one thing - I sure as hell wouldn't be smoming out there by that spill! I don't think warm water has anyting to do with where it will go. That water is already warm right now. Heck, my pool water is 85 and it's only been uncovered a week. The oil will spread when the current moves it and takes it to the area of the keys.
