25th Anniversary Gift Ideas

There are so many options for silver gifts that it's impossible to name them all; however, my goal will be to highlight some traditional and unique gift ideas for this very special occasion. Many of these ideas are appropriate as gifts to the anniversary couple, or gifts from the anniversary couple to each other.

Web sites like gifts.com, anniversaryideas.com, and theanniversaryshop.com, just to name a few, provide lists of the traditional and modern anniversary gift types for each year, along with gift ideas and the ability to order them from the sites. Other great places to shop are Things Remembered, Red Envelope, and the major department stores.

- Silver platter engraved with the number 25, the couple's name and wedding date.

- Silver triple photo frame - one idea is to put a picture of the couple on their wedding day in the left frame, a copy of the wedding invitation in the middle, and a current picture of the couple in the right frame.

- Silver anniversary clock - there are retailers and manufacturers who have a line of anniversary clocks in their inventory, and this is something that can be displayed and seen every day, and is a reminder of the couple's time together.

- Silver and marble cheese serving set - I saw this on the Red Envelope site, but several other places carry these, as well. This is a good idea for a gift that the couple will actively use.

- Stock in a silver company - this is a unique gift. You can purchase something like this at giveashare.com, where they have a list of many types of stocks, including Apex Silver Mines.

- Create a CD of songs from the era of the wedding date.

- 25th wedding anniversary fully custom caricature (from giveacaricature.com) - this is a unique and fun way to commemorate the years together. All you do is upload a photo or photos and describe any scene you want - they will do the rest and ship it. Allow at least two weeks for this process from ordering to receipt.

- For a woman, engraved silver jewelry is not only readily available, but is something she'll appreciate and keep forever. An engraved silver locket with a picture of the two of you inside is very special and utterly sentimental. A silver charm bracelet with a charm commemorating the anniversary is a lovely gift (James Avery is a great resource for this, as well as just about any other jewelry retailer), and you can give her charms for other occasions to add to it throughout the years. Or, give her a charm for the bracelet she might already have.

- For a man, consider an engraved pocket watch or money clip.

- Plan a trip to your honeymoon destination. Even if the destination isn't extravagant or exotic, do it anyway. It'll be a lovely reminder of your beginning together. If you have pictures from the honeymoon trip, try to take pictures in those same places again. Put the original pictures and the new ones in an engraved silver photo album (Things Remembered, Amazon.com), in pairs. What fun it will be to compare them!
