# 3 Long Beach LGBT Pride
Long Beach LGBT Pride is a very popular event that many people attend. This pride happens usually at the end of May. Long Beach Pride takes place alongside the harbor and convention area. This pride has some of the best entertainment, many vendors, stages, food, and all kinds of fun and inspiring things. The nice thing about Long Beach LGBT pride is that the festival is right next to the water and that helps on hot days. Some bands that have played at Long Beach Pride include the Indigo Girls, The Bangles, and other great bands. The festival is both on Saturday and Sunday. The parade is always on Sunday. The cost of the festival is usually $20 for one day. Parking is not free and cost $8 but the great thing is that there is plenty of it. If you have never been to a LGBT pride before and live in the southern California area then this is a great one to start with.
# 2 San Diego LGBT Pride
San Diego LGBT Pride happens usually the third week of July of every year. San Diego LGBT is a big celebration and attracts thousands of people every year. The Parade happens in the Hillcrest community of San Diego. This neighborhood is known as San Diego's gay community. The parade route starts in Hillcrest and goes down University Ave. then turning and goes down 6th Ave ending in the Balboa Park area where the festival is. Since the festival is quite a distance from the beginning of the parade SD LGBT Pride offers shuttles that take people to Balboa Park. If you are lucky you may be able to get a hotel room in the Hillcrest area. The Festival cost is usually $12-14 for one day and $20-25 for two days.
# 1 San Francisco LGBT Pride
San Francisco LGBT Pride is known as the biggest one in California. This pride is a huge party that starts on Friday and last all weekend. The main festival and parade take place in the Civic Center area of SF. However, there are many events during this weekend throughout the city. There is a Transgender March that occurs usually on Friday in Dolores Park. There is also a Dyke March that takes place on Saturday in Dolores Park. On Friday night the Castro is awake with pre-party and many people celebrating. On Saturday night the Castro has its annual Block Pink Party that lasts for hours. Thousands of people party hard during SF LGBT Pride. The great thing about this pride is that all these events are free! The Festival and Block Party asks for a suggested donation of $5 but that is all, and it goes to a great cause. There are also many parties happening in clubs and bars all throughout the Castro and civic center area. If you want to experience freedom to love then SF LGBT Pride is the place to be.
