3 of the Best Websites for Healthy Eating Information

Shirley Norling
There are a number of websites that have information on eating well and staying healthy. The choices are as varied as the information they offer. When deciding which website to go to for the best nutritional information, you may want to keep in mind any specific health issues you or your family may be having such as diabetes, obesity or allergies. The following 3 websites are tops in giving the best information on healthy eating issues, I feel.

1. Nutrition.gov: I consider this healthy eating website to be one of the best because it gives all the information we need on the government guidelines in regards to nutrition and healthy eating. It has the USDA Food Guidance System that is updated to include food pyramid and dietary guidelines for everyone from 2 to 102. This science based nutrition guidance is a winner in helping promote healthy lifestyles in regards to dietary habits. The website is organized by various subjects including smart nutrition, life stages, weight management, shopping, cooking and meal planning, just to name a few. It also includes information on food assistance programs and national health improvement goal programs. I highly recommend this website for anyone that may have questions regarding eating healthy, including young families that may be uncertain about what's healthy food-wise, and what's not.

2. Eating Well : I liked this website for healthy eating and wellness because of all the different sections it's divided into. It has a community where viewers can share recipes, meet people and exchange ideas. The recipes and menu sections are very well organized as well as colorful, making them very eye appealing. Ideas on healthy cooking suggest a number of ways to make family favorites healthy as well as tasty. Numerous ideas on sticking to ones food budget is also a big plus on this website, I feel.

3. BHG.com: This website is one of the best healthy eating websites, because it not only covers healthy eating, it also has various other topics pertaining to health and wellness. In addition to the healthy eating section, which has numerous ideas and recipes to keep ones body in the utmost shape, the BHG website has sections on all types of healthy living options. The health-finder section gives you ideas on keeping physically as well as nutritionally fit with things like family health guides and various work outs. I also like their variety of recipes and ideas for diabetics, as that is a major health issue in many homes today, including mine. This website is perfect for helping to keep us healthy head to toe.

Nutrition. gov, Eating Well.com, and BHG.com are 3 of the top websites for leading a healthy lifestyle by eating well, I found. I would suggest anyone looking for tips and ideas on healthy eating check out any of these websites. I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of them. I personally use them quite often for health and wellness tips and diet options.
