3 Cheap Christmas Gift Ideas for Your Girlfriend

Sammie Brown
Because I know that many of you guys are completely clueless as to what to get your girlfriend for Christmas, I'm going to throw you a bone here. The following are three inexpensive ways to impress your girlfriend by showing her how much you care and how sensitive you can be.

1. Anything with sentimental value

To be perfectly honest, girls love being told how much they're loved. If you don't show them that they're appreciated, they forget. So, for Christmas, don't forget to show your girlfriend that you love her. There are a lot of inexpensive ways to do such that make up for their lack of monetary value with their amount of sentimental value.

For example, guys, you can buy your girl love coupons. I'm not talking about the Naughty or Nice sort of sex coupons that you see around quite often because, quite frankly, those are more for the guys than the girls (though, of course, there are always exceptions and if your girl is into it then by all means go for it). What I'm talking about are the sorts of love coupons that are good for one romantic dinner, a movie night, a picnic, etc. These oftentimes can be picked up at book stores such as Borders, or online on Amazon, here and they only cost about $6 plus shipping and handling (though some can be found for even less).

Girls are also extremely nostalgic, so if you want a different idea of a way to show her you love her, try scrapbooking. It doesn't have to be anything extremely fancy, but if there are any little reminders of your dating history that you've managed to keep, put them together in chronological order and surround them with pictures. For example, tickets to the first movie you two went together, something that invokes a particular memory, concert tickets, etc. are really good things to add to a scrapbook as well as any cards you may have exchanged or love notes you've written her, etc.

Also, you could try to write her a sweet letter yourself or even a poem or a song. Whatever you want to write, make it very personal and make sure it will sweep her off her feet. It doesn't have to be the best piece of literature she's ever read (you don't need to be the next Shakespeare), just make it meaningful and it will be a wonderful Christmas gift.

2. A Shopping Spree

There's very little that girls like more than clothes, so why not take your girlfriend on an all day shopping spree? I know what you're thinking-this can get very expensive if you don't be careful. But take her to the mall-buy her her favorite drink at the vendor, let her fawn over the puppies and kitties in the pet shop, and promise her the entire day to spend together. Of course, this is best done AFTER Christmas, and if you're afraid of spending too much, buy a Visa gift card and give that to her on Christmas with a note explaining the purpose.

Especially if you two don't always get to spend a lot of personal time together, she'll really appreciate being able to spend this quality time with you, and, on top of that, she gets to do her favorite thing in the world-shop!

3. Jewelry

You can't go wrong with the old-fashioned jewelry idea. The first thing people think when they think jewelry is the very expensive sort that will cost them an arm and a leg. That isn't necessary true, though. You don't have to spend $500 to get a really nice piece of jewelry that your girlfriend will love.

Try checking out sales, compare prices at different places. I can tell you right now that the stores that specialize solely in jewelry will most likely be expensive and overpriced, and not the best place to go in order to get jewelry for a good cost.

Stores such as Kmart and WalMart, however, usually have sales on their jewelry and you can get them at very reasonable prices. Right now, Kmart has 70% off their jewelry, so things that you may have thought about getting your girlfriend and shied away because of the price are suddenly a lot more affordable. If you don't have a Kmart store to visit near you, you can always check out the website here.
