3 Don'ts with Maternity Wear

Jasmine Starr

So, that little miracle in your belly is growing and it is time to start shopping for maternity wear. There are some things you will need to keep in mind when shopping for your new clothes. These are called the don'ts of maternity wear. These are the things that you don't want to do. So, if you are fixing to go shopping for that new wardrobe, take a look at this guide first.

Buy Larger Clothing

First up on this list is DON'T buy larger clothing and substitute it for maternity wear. Some regular, everyday clothes will work for maternity clothes, but you have to be careful with these. But buying jeans that are way too big, looks really awful, so avoid doing this. This goes for shirts to. If you buy a shirt that is really large, it will more than likely be too large through the arms and will look awful.

Spend a Fortune

There is no need to go out and buy all of those high price clothes that will only be wore for a few months. This is especially a no no if you are on a budget. You will only wear these clothes for a short time so there is really no need in putting a ton of money in these clothes.

Let It Hang Out

Don't buy clothes that will let your belly hang out. Sure a pregnant belly is a beautiful thing, but letting it hang all out in public is not always the prettiest thing. In other words, don't dress trashy when you are pregnant because that does not say very much about you. I have seen some girls walk around with shorts up to their butt and tube tops with their pregnant belly hanging out. I don't know who told them that was a nice look, but someone lied to them.

So, with these three things in mind, you are ready to go on your shopping spree to cover up your new bundle of joy. If you are on a budget with maternity clothes, you might want to check your local classifieds or Craig's List. Sometimes you can find great deals on other mothers selling maternity clothes or even giving them away!
