Fats are the excess of calories you consume more than what your body can burn, causing you to gain weight. If you take in only as much as you can consume, your weight stays the same. But to achieve total weight loss and body fat, you'll need to burn more calories that you consume. Your body-mass index (BMI) indicates the estimated amount of body fat you have. Studies show that a BMI over 27 qualifies a great risk to develop health problems such as diabetes, stroke, and heart attack.

Choosing healthy foods that are rich in water and fiber like fruits and vegetables can help weight loss compared to eating processed foods, fast foods, and desserts that fill up loads of calories.
