How to Save a Few Bucks when Buying a New Computer

Charlotte Raynor
Are you thinking about purchasing a new computer? Are you overcome by all the choices out there? Are you stressed out by the computers high prices these days?

When it comes time for you to purchase a new computer, it doesn't have to be as nerve-racking as purchasing a new vehicle. It doesn't have to be as pricey either. You probably have a restricted financial plan for purchasing a computer, if you are like nearly everybody else, so you should strive to obtain the best computer as you can, for the least amount of money.

In this article, I will explain three easy ways anybody can save some bucks when purchasing a new computer.

1) Search stores and compare computers and prices

I know that this sounds quite evident; however, there are numerous individuals that do not recognize the fact that they do not need the most high-priced, quickest computer with all those pricey extras included. In reality, a lower priced new computer would be a large upgrade, if you are currently utilizing an older computer. You can become very educated about computers if you do not know very much about them, by researching different stores that carry computers for sale. Ask tons of questions about the computers they have for sale, evaluate the different costs, evaluate the features each one has, and then locate the best cost for the computer you think is best for you. Some great places to compare prices is online and at your local electronics stores. You will be happily amazed at how many bucks you can save by comparing computers and their prices!

2) Do not buy a "loaded" computer-Install your own software

Most of the computers you will discover in your local stores contain tons of additional software that is already installed on the computer. Whereas this might come in handy, it might not be the best way to save money on your new computer. Additionally, you probably do not need all that extra software, even though it may sound good. Frequently, this extra software that is loaded on the computers can be purchased on an individual basis for a much lower price. This extra software includes things like popup blockers, games, word processor, and anti-virus and spyware removal. Some of these items you can also get for free on the internet. Therefore, prior to you purchasing a loaded up computer, question whether you really need all that software. Then, shop around to check if you could possibly purchase a lower priced computer and obtain the software programs on your own for less money.

3) Extended Warranties are not worth buying

The extended warranties made available by computer dealers may sound like great things to buy, especially if you are not very computer savvy. Besides, nobody likes to be worried about having to pay for a repair on a new computer after you purchase it. Just remember that nearly all new computers come with a warranty and most of the time, troubles with a computer usually happen when you first buy it, when the warranty is still valid. Computer troubles will also happen much later when it actually might cost less to just purchase a new computer. Nowadays, technology advances happen every day. Therefore think about whether it's worth the high price to purchase the extended warranty. If you decide that you would feel better having the extended warranty, then try to buy it at a cheaper cost. Some retailers will bargain on the price, while others won't. Also, be certain that you back up all of your files from time to time whether you purchase the extended warranty or not.

Some people have a limitless amount of money and are able to purchase anything they want. However, if you are on a budget or do your work online with your computer, be certain that you purchase the computer you need, for the lowest possible price. No matter what price you pay, if the computer doesn't fit your needs, then it is not a good deal. I hope these tips are useful when you are ready to purchase a new computer.

I highly suggest not purchasing from stores - the ones available commercially are usually higher priced than going online to the manufacturer. In addition, I highly suggest getting a refurbished computer - just call up the brand name maker you like and talk to a rep, they usually can help you out!
