Recycled Christmas crafts make awesome eco friendly Christmas ornaments for you tree. These are all recycled Christmas craft projects that you can make at home with the kids!

So, break out those egg cartons and get ready for some creativity. You can use styrfoam or cardboard egg cartons to make these recycled Christmas crafts. Try to avoid the styrofoam egg cartons in the future though!

Eco Friendly Christmas Garland

Go ahead and take the bottom half of the egg carton and cut off the small circle bases that hold the eggs in place. You will need a bunch of these, so turn the TV on and start cutting.

Once the egg cartons bottoms are cut out you need to start gluing the small half circles together to form a whole circle. Make as many of these as you need.

Now, you have a few options here. You can paint the small circles in a variety of ways. If your egg carton was paper, then paint on acrylic paint.

If your egg carton was Styrofoam, them you will need to prime I first. Once the primer and paint has dried you are ready to string the eco friendly Christmas garland together.

You will need one long piece of yarn and a metal upholstery needle.

Thread the yarn on the needle and then double it up. Tie the ends in a knot. Start threading the small round balls you made onto the yarn. Continue this until your yarn is full.

You can also work in lengths and the tie the small lengths together.

Eco Friendly Christmas Ornament Snowman

I wrote an article on a fun eco friendly Christmas ornament craft project entitled Recycled Snowman Ornaments. It is a simple recycled ornament craft that makes a cut e snowman to hang on your Christmas tree.

Search that title in AC's box above and you will have a ton of fun using all those leftover craft materials from around the house.

Eco Friendly Christmas Crafts: Napkin Rings

To make this simple craft try to use the cardboard egg cartons. You want to cut out strips of paper from the top lid of the egg cartons. They should be about two inches wide and about is inches long. Of course, you can adjust this as needed.

You can use the rest of the recycled egg carton box to cut out tree shapes, candy cane shape, and other Christmas shapes.

Use glue or a metal office butterfly tab to attach the shape to the middle of the strip of paper.

Glue the paper in a circle of loop and then let it dry.

If you want you can also paint the recycled napkin ring out with acrylic paint!
