The Gennesaret Free Clinic is Indianapolis' premier address for free health care. Primarily slated to serve the indigent and the uninsured, Indianapolis' Gennesaret Free Clinic is a volunteer effort that has led to the opening of 11 locations. They are found in six homeless shelters, a food kitchen, operate out of a mobile unit, and also provide for dental care.
The Gennesaret Free Clinic has been in business for about 20 years, and those in need of help may call the main office at (317) 955-0217 or email the administrator. The only prerequisites for prospective patients visiting the clinics open to the public is simple: you must not have health insurance, provide proof that you live in Marion County, show that you are earning less than 150% of the poverty level, and be able to pay $5 for the visit.
St. Francis Neighborhood Clinic offers free or low cost family medicine access to patients who are unemployed, uninsured, or just unable to pay
St. Francis Neighborhood Clinic is affiliated with the Sister of St. Francis Health Services. Located at 8111 South Emerson Avenue in Indianapolis, St. Francis Neighborhood Clinic offers free health care as well as low cost clinics to Indianapolis residents who are unemployed or uninsured. Patients are urged to call (317) 865-5000 for an appointment.
The Sister of St. Francis have put into effect a framework that defines financial need as it qualifies for free health care. Those who do not meet these qualifications are still able to set up payment arrangements or obtain an interest free loan to pay for their medical care. Prospective patients should call a financial hardship counselor at (866) 903-0436.
The Shalom Health Care Center offers the unemployed or uninsured low cost or free health care; children at participating schools are treated free of charge
The Shalom Health Care Center is located at 3400 Lafayette Road, Suite 200; patients in need of free health care or low cost clinics may call (317) 291-7422.
Hours of operation are Mondays through Wednesdays from 7:30 AM until 5:00 PM, Thursdays from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM, and Fridays as well as the first and third Saturdays of every month from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
When school is in session, children may visit the clinics located at Farrington Elementary School, Gambold Middle School, and Northwest High School during the regular school week from 7:30 AM until 3:30 PM.
The Shalom Health Care Center applies a sliding fee scale for its uninsured patients. There is also a patient assistance program that offers help with prescription costs to qualifying patients. Children may receive free treatment at the three free health care clinics in the Indianapolis schools previously mentioned.
