There is no reason to stretch your budget to find quality summer entertainment in Phoenix. There are plenty of free summer festivals to keep all family members happy, no matter their ages or interests. You can find events in downtown Phoenix as well as in outlying areas, but make sure you bring sunglasses and plenty of sunscreen wherever you go.
Chandler Center for the Arts: Free Summer Concert Series
It hardly feels like summer without a concert or two, and the free summer concert series at the Chandler Center for the Arts is a perfect solution. From blues to flamenco, you'll find every type of musical styling at the series, and best of all the event is free and open to the public.
Keep in mind that you cannot reserve tickets for the concert series, so admission is granted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Arrive early to get the best view of the stage and to ensure you'll be able to see the performance. Afterward, you can grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants in the area or take a walk to nearby shops and stores.
