Halloween treat ideas.

So your having a Halloween party. Maybe its for children, or adults. But either way here are some fun treat ideas that will be a hit for the young and old alike.

Jack-o-Lantern on a stick.
This is a good treat for children. To make a jack-o-lantern on a sick, you will need.
Sugar Cookies,
Orange or chocolate frosting ( to make orange frosting, use white and mix in red and yellow food coloring to reach desired shade of orange frosting.
Orange gumdrops ( or orange gummy wedges)
Popsicle sticks.
To make.
Use the orange gumdrops to make a jack-o-lantern face on one side of the sugar cookie, Attach with dabs of frosting. Then frost the other side and put a pop cycle stick in the frosting. Add a second sugar cookie and allow frosting to harden before serving.
To dress this up a notch, use other candy such as candy corn, red hots, and string type licorice as decorations.

Spider Cupcakes.
Spooky spider cupcakes will dazzle children and audits at a Halloween party.
You will need.
Chocolate cupcake mix
Dark Chocolate frosting
Chocolate sprinkles
Red hot candies or M&Ms
Red licorice strings
Marshmallows
Follow the directions to make chocolate cupcakes. Set aside to cool. Place about 2 tablespoons of frosting in a sandwich bag with a corner cut off ( just the tip, very small hole )Frost with chocolate frosting and cover with chocolate sprinkles. Cut your marshmallows in half. Use the reserve bag of frosting to put a small dot on the marshmallows and attach to the front of cupcakes as eyes. Then use a dot of frosting to attach the red hots or m&ms to the marshmallows as pupil's. Put a M&M between the eyes for a nose/mouth. Use the licorice strings as legs, you will need 8 legs per spider. Push the ends into the frosting.

Jack-o-lantern cakes.
Make mini cakes into jack-o-lanterns for a personal treat. Or make it into a game by decorating them at a party.
You will need.
1 box Yellow cake mix
4 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1 cup of pumpkin pie mix
2 containers of white frosting
1 tube black frosting or gel
mini bunt pans or cupcake pans
Assorted candies
To make
Oven temp 350.
Combine the cake mix, pumpkin pie mix, eggs and oil in large bowl. Beat until mixed, then spoon into mini bunt cake pans or into papered cupcake pans. Cook for 20-27 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Transfer to a wire rack to cool
Color 1/2 cup frosting green with food coloring and put in a plastic bag with a small hole cut into one corner. Color the rest of the frosting orange. Put 1/4 cup into a plastic bag with a small hole in one corner.
Stack 2 mini cakes together to form a pumpkin, and stack on a wire rack.
Use remaining orange frosting to coat each pumpkin. Covering completely. Refrigerate cakes for 1 hour, or until frosting sets solid.
And its time to decorate!
Use the green frosting to make leaves and vines on top of the pumpkins. Use black icing to make eyes, noses and mouthes. Use dots of frosting to attach assorted candies to your pumpkins. Everyone comes out with a personally decorated pumpkin cake.
