3 Gluten Free Recipes

Baked Apple Dessert: A favorite in the fall and winter, just the thing to warm you on a cool day.

Ingredients:

Four Fuji Apples
Sugar
Butter (or a healthy alternative)
Cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees. Carefully core out the center of the apples and place in a shallow baking dish. Put one tablespoon of butter in each apple, followed by a few tablespoons of sugar. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees until tender. It doesn't matter if you core all the way through the apple. If this happens and the juices leak out during cooking, just spoon the mixture on top of the apples during the cooking process and then again before you serve.

Baked Cinnamon Bananas: Also a great fall favorite to warm your soul. There's nothing like the smell of cinnamon in the fall time.

Ingredients:

Bananas
Lemon Juice
Cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees. Peel the bananas, slice length-wise and place in a shallow baking dish. Pour a few tablespoons of lemon juice over each banana. Lightly sprinkle cinnamon on top and bake at 350 degrees, just until hot. It should only take 5-10 minutes. The lemon juice and cinnamon will bring out the sweetness of the bananas.

This Baked Pear Recipe from allrecipes.com is another fall treat. Original and flavorful, this one is for a slightly more sophisticated palate and would go well with a white wine.

Ingredients:

Four Bosc Pears
Two Tablespoons Honey
Three Tablespoons Butter, melted
Dash of Ground Ginger
1/2 Teaspoon Lavender Flowers (optional)

Preheat Oven to 375 degrees. Peel pears and scoop out bottom core. Cut a small slice from the bottom so pears will stand upright. Place in a shallow baking dish and set aside. Melt butter in the microwave or in a sauce pan. Drizzle pears with melted butter and honey, sprinkle with ground ginger and lavender (if using). Cover with aluminum foil, letting the stems poke through the top of the foil. Bake at 375 degrees for about an hour or until tender. Baste with released juices occasionally during baking and again just before serving.
