3 Great Yoga Studios in the Charleston Area

Serenity Now Yoga

When I first moved to Charleston, I was pregnant, so I looked for a yoga studio that offered prenatal yoga.
I lived in Mount Pleasant at the time, and Serenity Now Yoga was just around the corner. Serenity Now is located off of Ben Sawyer Blvd. in a quaint shopping center near Sullivan's island. When you walk into Serenity Now, the peace engulfs you, and your nostrils are hit with the smell of tea and enchanting aromas. The front area allows you to sit comfortably as you take off your shoes, and read a local magazine. The prenatal class that I participated in allowed me to stretched the areas that helped me prepare for birth, and continue my yoga practice.

The Yoga Loft

The Yoga Loft of Summerville is truly a sanctuary. When you open the door, your eyes are met with an incline of stairs, which seem to be a visual metaphor of the Buddhist's Himalayas. You take your shoes off at the bottom. Then, your bare feet touch the cold, oak wood alternately, until you reach the top. Once, you reach the top of the stairs you are met with the aroma of lavender. You can choose to either go right, to shop the store/gallery, or you can choose to go left into the studio. All of the Yoga classes that I have attended here, have been taught by instructors who live their teachings. You will only feel peace when you walk in and peace when you walk out.

Holy Cow Yoga

Holy Cow Yoga is the only studio in town that offers classes for certification. It is located in the West Ashley area of Charleston, and offers a wider range of yoga styles than any other studio in Charleston. Holy Cow is also located next to the only Earth Fare in town, which allows the convenience to shop healthy and be healthy.

I recommend any of the three studios.
