A smile can go a long way and in today's busy world a simple smile can convey concern and appreciation. What else can give that smile an extra touch? What else but to have a set of sparkling white teeth. Many people spend thousands of dollars to have it professionally done, but to those who simply do not have the finances to support this expensive procedure, there are simple home remedies that can do the trick. It may take a longer time to take effect but, the results will be as effective. There are three of them that you can easily find in your home.

Baking Soda - This amazing product has so many uses and one of them is to give you that sparkling white smile that you want. To use this, simply put your ordinary toothpaste on your toothbrush then add a small amount of the baking powder and then brush your teeth as usual. You may also use plain baking soda to brush your teeth and it works like removing stain from your other household appliances and areas. Just make sure to use only enough of the baking powder because if you use too much it may damage your teeth's enamel.

Hydrogen Peroxide - This is another home remedy for discolored teeth. To use this simply gargle using the hydrogen peroxide as you would do with other mouthwash solutions, then you will have to rinse it with water to remove the taste. You can also make a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to create a paste that you can use for brushing. Hydrogen Peroxide works by loosening the molecules that initially caused the stain. This procedure is generally safe for as long as you do not swallow the peroxide after gargling. You cannot use too much of this also because it can cause mouth sores, gum sensitivity and teeth enamel erosion.

Wood Ash - This is another popular home whitening remedy, to use it simply put your toothpaste onto your toothbrush and add some wood ash and then brush as you normally would. Wood ash contains a natural bleaching agent, Potassium Hydroxide that makes it an effective teeth whitening solution. It helps clean your teeth by scrubbing and scraping off plaque and dirt from your teeth. Just like baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, you only have to use the exact amount because too much of this may cause moth sore and irritation.

Teeth whitening need not be expensive; these 3 simple home remedies will achieve the same outcome although it may take a longer time. It's not how fast, but what matters is it give you the same results. You just have to be careful in using them so as not to have any untoward side effects.
