Did you know that three of the easiest and greenest facial cleansers can most likely be found right inside your kitchen pantry? There is no need to purchase expensive cleansers if you are looking to avoid toxins and chemicals in your personal care items. Just open your pantry, and pull out:
1. Green Tea
Why?
Green tea contains antioxidants which protect against sun damage, flush the skin of free radicals, and have anti-aging properties. It also moisturizes the skin.
How do I use it?
- Boil water in a tea kettle.
- When the water comes to a boil, add one or two green tea bags to the water.
- After it steeps for about 15 minutes, dip a wash cloth into the tea and cleanse your face.
- Rinse with cool water.
2. Coconut Oil
Why?
Coconut oil has antioxidant, antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial properties. It is also an excellent moisturizer.
How do I use it?
- Scoop a small dollop of coconut oil out of the container and massage it into your face.
- Leave it on for a few minutes as you complete your other shower tasks, and then rinse.
- Hints: A little bit goes a long way! Also, although your skin may feel oily when you first rinse off the coconut oil, your skin will soak it up quickly, and your face will feel soft and moisturized within a few minutes.
3. Honey
Why?
Honey is antimicrobial, antibacterial, moisturizing, and a wonderful acne treatment.
How do I use it?
- Put a small dollop of honey into your hands, rub them together, and massage the honey into your face.
- Leave the honey on your face for five minutes.
- Rinse with water.
Try these natural face cleansing methods, and hopefully you will never need to purchase another facial cleanser again!
