Jeans that Make Your Butt Look Small #1: Color
The first step in finding jeans that make your butt look smaller is to buy jeans that are dark washed. This means, no acid wash, stone wash, or faded denim. In place of that look for indigo, black, or simply darker shades of your favorite jeans
Dark colors, like black and dark indigo will always make you look smaller.
Jeans that Make Your Butt Look Small #2: Pockets
Pockets are an amazing way to control how a pair of jeans makes your butt look. Look for pockets are places in the middle of your butt when you putt them on. Pockets that are too high look unnatural pockets on jeans that are placed too low make your butt look longer and therefore bigger.
Pocket size also matters. Small pockets will make your butt look large. It makes sense visually. Small pockets will look like regular pockets that seem small because the width of your butt is bigger.
So, opt instead for regular sized pockets and even oversized pockets. Visually there will trick the eye into making your butt look smaller.
Stitching on the pockets is also a great way to control this look. If you do have small pockets the least you can do is look for stitching in the same color as your denim. Using yellow or contrasting stitching will draw attention to the butt. Less attention is always great for the look of a small butt.
Jeans that Make Your Butt Look Small #3: The Rise
Finally, the rise. How far your jeans travel up on your waist will control how large your butt looks in jeans. Look for jeans that when on fall 2 inches below your belly button. This is known as midrise.
Wearing midrise jeans will keep the back of the jeans from visually making yoru butt look to long. Low-rise jeans are also a great option for visually cutting the size of your butt in half.
At all costs you should avoid the high-rise or "Mommy fit" jeans. These are the jeans that have a high rise and also taper in at the bottom.
