3 More Music Reality Shows to Air Soon

Renee Bagley
Move over "American Idol" more TV shows are coming to compete with the hit reality show. Most everyone loves to see new talent being discovered and seeing peoples dreams come true is just icing on the cake.

The X Factor
Simon Cowell's reality show features singers and groups who compete for a chance at a $5 million recording contract. Contestants must be at least 12 years of age to participate. Judges and hosts will include Simon Cowell (duh!), Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue, Dermot O'Leary, and Konnie Huq. Sign up for email alerts to keep up with the coming action. You will also be able to use the built in iTv player to catch up on the latest episodes.

Platinum Hit
Even though Kara DioGuardi left "American Idol" after two seasons on the show she is far from jobless. The 40-year-old songwriter is using her extensive music knowledge as head judge on "Platinum Hit." She admits the show is similar to 'AI', but contestants will not be judged on their voice. The new reality show will be judged on how contestants write the song and will be hosted by Jewel.

The Voice
NBC also has their hand in the music reality show pot. The show will be hosted by Carson Daly featuring famous judges Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, and Adam Levine. The singing competition will be based on voice alone, not looks. There will be three stages of competition: the blind audition, the battle phase, and the live performance. The judges will hear the performers but not be allowed to see them, if they like someone they will push a button and their chair will swivel to the contestant they selected. Don't forget to check out the official website. 'The Voice' premieres on April 26.

I have to admit that AI is doing very well. My guess as to why? Steven Tyler is far more intelligent than I thought he would be and FINALLY the "Adam Lambert Factor" has sunk into both the contestants and the judges.
