Fans of Jane Austen and Victorian Era literature will adore the film adaptation that this book can be made into. The author, Georgette Heyer is the queen of Regency historical romance, and what separates her from her counterparts is that her fiction is clean, historically accurate, and her writing style is very similar to that of Austen's. The Black Moth is one of her 50+ books that she wrote and by far one of her best. It is her very first novel penned and yet the plot line is detailed with a lot or romance and is filled with exciting duels and intrigue. Like the style of all of Jane Austen's novels, Heyer's novels also all end with a happy ending and with the two main characters united in love and so it would make a great film for dates or even just for a relaxed night at home. As for the actually film, I believe that actress Keira Knightly (from "Pride and Prejudice" and "Pirates of the Caribbean") and actor Hugh Jackman (from "Kate & Leopold", "X-Men", "Australia") would fit as perfect roles of the two main lovers.
The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis
This is the second volume in Inklings author C.S. Lewis' infamous "Chronicles of Narnia" literary work. Although probably regarded as one of the lesser known of the novels, this is one of my favorites. Blended with fantasy, innocent romance, and good reigning over evil thematic elements, the film adaptation of this book would make a great viewing choice for children and adults alike. This book also centers on two main characters, a young boy and a young girl. Actor Skandar Keynes, who plays Edmund in the recently released Chronicles of Narnia film adaptations of "Prince Caspian" and "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe", would be excellent as the main young boy. Actress Abigail Breslin work well as the main young girl.
The Darcy Connection by Elizabeth Aston
As a huge fan of Jane Austen and suggested sequels of her work, author Elizabeth Aston reigns as one of the better storyteller's of continuations of Austen's beloved novels primarily based on Mr. Darcy (the main male character from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice) and his extended family. The Darcy Connection is one of Aston's more enjoyable ones. The story centers on Mr. and Mrs. Collins' two daughters, their differences and how it leads to their romantic entanglements. Like Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer, Elizabeth Aston's novels are clean and always end with a happy ending. Actresses Gemma Arterton (who starred in "Quantum of Solace" and BBC's "Tess of the D'Urbervilles"), Ruth Wilson (who starred in BBC's "Jane Eyre"), or Felicity Jones (who starred in BBC's "Northanger Abbey") would cast best as the two sisters. Actors Toby Stephens (who starred in "Die Another Day" and BBC's "Jane Eyre") and Hugh Grant (from "Two Weeks Notice" and "Sense and Sensibility") would be great as the leading male roles.
